http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22541130 Interesting to note that the table states that we didn't get above 26,000 for a league game this season (not counting the play-off semi, obviously). Our average attendance has dropped by about 1000 on last year.
*nods* The drop in average attendance doesn't raise as much interest for me compared to the relatively low "Highest Attendance" figure. Can't remember a season since we moved (outside the League One season perhaps) where we haven't pulled in 28 or 29k for a league match at least once during the league season. That didn't happen last year though. Just thought it was worth noting.
The attendaces are dropping year after year. The club really need to sort that out asap Everyone seen all the good time fans come out for the play offs though All the If "we" get promoted the first thing I will do is buy a season ticket supporters can **** off though
Trouble is.... you can't "fook em off" they are the potential customers of the club...and make no mistake that is what we are all considered to be, I have said it before, the pricing structure was miss conceived from the start, there will be another drop off around the country next season.. football needs to wake up before it prices itself out of the market, once people get out of the habit of going, its very hard to get them back... the customer is always right.., work off that basis and won't go far wrong..
What he said. Football is killing the cash cow slowly but surely. The Germans have the right idea - just have a look at Dortmund's attendance figures in the link that mitch posted. It's started already with Man City's travelling support boycotting the Arsenal game ... think we'll be seeing a lot more of that. Unknown in my lifetime for Forest and Derby not to fill their given part of our stadiums ... happened this season.
Bet you my life that all of the 6/7,000 plastic fans come crawling out if their shells next season too!
I think the extensive coverage by Sky won't have helped our average attendance and matches like the Watford game would have attracted bigger crowds too if not shown. Even the Boro game would have been higher! Regarding the local derbies FF, would I be right in saying both our homes ties were on Sky?
Hard times & lots of games on SKY. Still about 4,000 average more than we would of got if we were still playing at Filbert St.
Think this sums us how plastic the Premiership has made some fans http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-19055057-detail/story.html#axzz2U1ZqyDYb Think they've already sold more Season Tickets than they averaged last season!!
Plastic or not, they are still funding the club. Who cares how loyal they are if they are putting cash in the owners pockets.
