Brighton and West ham both lost at home, and Derby, Blackpool and Hull only managed draws against bottom 6 clubs.

I know we've still got to do the biz tonight, but to say right now that a mid table finish for us will be a decent outcome for the season is farcical.

The "big names" are always going to be in with a shout, but this division is wide open.

Do you think that Steve McClaren is in trouble?

Had similar thoughts myself as the results came up Sparkey. Big game for us tonight. A win and we close the gap on the top 5. A loss and we're in with the mid table pack. A long way to go but we need to take advantage of others dropping points. Lots of draws in the fixture list is always good if your team can win.

i've spoken to a few notts forest fans on xbox live, and they think he's crap! with the league so close its easy to get a bit carried away if you lose 2 or win 2 on the bounce so for the time being i'll settle with the points tally ticking over especially with the injuries etc.

nice to see west ham lose, i love to see a team spending big money (for this division) fail, i make no apologies for that <cheers>

A win for Southampton would not be good for the league as a gap would start to open up I would think. Need you guys to at least hold them to keep everyone bunched together the same as last season <ok>

i am feeling more confident today, we usually do ok against the saints so i will go for a very hard fought 1 - 0 victory to the City, Gerrard to score the goal, and then follow up with a brace against Hull.

I have always thought McClaren is a rubbish manager so not overly surprised Forest are not doing too well.
Tonight we must bag all 3 points to keep the ******ed saints posters off here and keep the saints in the mix and not extend their lead at the top.

******ed? Thanks. Didn't realise we'd ever done anything to you. In fact, due to Dave Jones, I've always quite liked you in recent years (obviously with him gone now though, things are different now).

Don't fret oh bendy one - I'm sure taff didn't mean you personally.:emoticon-0105-wink:

I also used to quite like you due to someone (well two actually) at your club. It was the two Peters in your side when you beat Manu in the '76 Cup Final.

As a boy (very young), I remembered Peter Rodrigues slide tackling opposition left wingers into the hoardings at Ninian, then about 10 years later was enthralled by Peter Osgood at the Bridge. I was just starting my student apprenticeship in SW3 and he was my hero. I was incensed (as only an 18 yearold can be) when Sexton fell out with him and flogged him to you lot.

He ended up at the Dell and I enjoyed watching both Peters take the Cup for you guys at Wembley that year.

    No sweat fella - it's only a game. <ok>

Peter Rodrigues, now there's a blast from the past, wonder what he'd be worth on current values.

Think the ******ed reference is based on one single moron who has wummed us incessantly as supersaint1 through to supersaint19 or something ridiculous like that (everytime he gets banned he returns with an updated profile)

Whilst he's got on most of our tits for being a moron don't think there's much bad blood between the two sides.

Except for the fact that when le tis scored against us in the league cup back when you were prem and we were **** Lee Baddelly our centre half was down injured after a tasty elbow in the chop. But even I as an aspirational MOG won't hold such cheating against you over a decade later...

And after the last few years I think we can come together in a shared hatred of ****ing POMPEY and that **** kanu

Apologies, I was and am referring to those few Saints fans that come on here with nothing to offer but childish insults, I am not referring to the many decent fans that do offer genuine and balanced posts.

2-0, both to Miller. Suppose we'll keep him a bit longer.

After his first Miller upped his game and deserved his 2nd and MOM imo. A good confidence booster too for Sat. <ok>

A good result that puts us 3 points off top. We need a result on Saturday to go into the international break on a high.
