OK I watched and enjoyed last night's game, as a Man City fan, not an anti Swansea thing, I don't think 4 - 0 was a fair relection of the game, and a lot of teams are going to get spanked at Man City, Swansea showed enough for me in the first half especially to suggest they could well survive in the premiership, and I think that they might well turn the Liberty into a bit of a fortress, and this home form could well be enough to keep them up. Positives for me as a relative "neutral" were that Swansea stuck to their principles and played their slick passing football, and Sinclair, and a few of the other Swans players didn't look overawed or out of their depth. Negatives, for all the Swans nice football, they seemed to lack a cutting edge at this level, and could struggle for goals, but then again they are not going to come up against defences as mean as Man City's every week. I think that the Swans might be a bit like Blackpool, they are going to win a lot of friends, but not many matches, unlike Blackpool though I don't think they will get relegated, because although it's early days I think there are three worse teams in the premiership than Swansea. Home form is going to be the key, if the Swans can sort that out, then they should be OK. Not a wum, just calling it as I see it, I hope they survive, it's going to be tough, and they might need to spend a few quid but I think they can do it. They might have to compromise their principles slightly, last night they sometimes tried to play TOO much football at times, the Man City defence showed that sometimes just putting your foot straight through the ball is the right thing to do. Again not a WUM, just an honest appraisal, I think you can survive, and hope you do, you got chucked in at the deep end, and most of the more realistic Swans fans realise that anything outside the bottom three is going to be "success" in your first season..................unlike the QPR fans the Swans and Norwich fans realise it's going to be a long hard slog...............enjoy your roller coaster ride
Saw this as a reply to my post. Still don't think you're the real Prophet. I don't. We will stay up. I'm confident.
I thought Agustien was your best player last night, I didn't notice him put one pass astray and looked calm on the ball, your Goalie looks a bargain but I'm afraid ruffage didn't look interested dont rate him at all, good luck against Wigan.
Well i am impressed with 99.9% of the cardiff fans since promotion. You have mostly all said some pretty fair and kind words recently and held back the urge to wum. Proph i would say your reflection of the game is pretty much spot on. Godd article mate!
Well said Prophet. I think you are spot on . Here's hoping we can survive (I think we can - the test starts with Wigan on Saturday) , and that MM continues to lead the cardiff "TEAM" , so that we can show the world the south wales derby in the premiership!
I just didn't expect anything from monday night. Our season starts saturday and then the following saturday. Wigan and Sunderland at home. hopefully we will get off the mark and with the points will come confidence for the team. I still be lieve we will get 4 points from our next 2 games. Judge us after that. think things will have changed.
nobody would have beaten man city last night and it took them over an hour to break us down after man city boss changed to their star player. ..loads of positives to work on and any lesser side we could have even won the game.....we still have players that are learning our system and as far as i could see we done very well against the champions elect. 4-0 i agree with Brendan flattered man city......there will be plenty of wins if we can improve on fitness a touch as the players worked their socks off and ran out of steam in the last quarter....im sure Brendan will work on that in training even though apart from a couple of teams they will be fine and on par with the rest....
excellent analogy proph...you could almost be a jack....one more thing the defence tatey espescially are going to get murdered if the stand off the way they did last nght..what they got away with last season they will be punished for this season..but quiet a few positives though..we did look comfortable on the ball in that type of company which bodes well and what a find in Worm
Last year first game results for newly promoted teams Chelsea 6-0 West Brom Man Utd 3-0 Newcastle West Brom finished 11th and Newcastle 12th, one game result stands for nothing. Also have to say at half time I thought you were getting a point there last night.
We have improved year on year every season for the last 6 seasons in our climb throught the divisions. And we have lost our first game in every one!
Good article Proph and I agree with what you say. You're not feeling under the weather are you ?????? Only joking, a fair and honest appraisal and one I can't find fault with
think your comments are spot on prophet. one month in will tell us if got what it takes to stay up . last season rodgers saw problems early and fixed them ,i think he can do the same again. i also think the ace up our sleeve will be the loan market . i have a feeling we may get some quality in by not going over the wage budget that way. very early days but was happy with what i saw for the first 60mins.
Well constructed and balanced article Proph . The litmus test will be the next two games, if we do well then I think we`ll be ok, lose both and we are in real trouble. Your lot are blending together as a team and playing for each other again, it`s looking good.
