Last night particularly, but also to a degree on Saturday, I don't think I can remember City look more threatening in attack over a sustained period. But for a keeper, some wayward finishing and a cross-bar, that game could have finished 8 - 4 to us, with 4 or 5 of those goals coming in the last 20 mins.

Shows that we have another avenue to our play, although I would suspect that with the current crop of players we have, I fear it would be unsustainable for 90 mins. Still another notch further allow the WoP project planner!

PS Craig Davies looks like a find and a snip to me!

I reckon we had a go against Blackpool in the first match of the season, but just weren't good enough on the day. At least we're creating the chances.

It was frustrating last night, apart from their keeper having a blinder, that we had so many chances but as you said it's a sign we're on top of games ad progressing.

for long periods last night and on Saturday we adopted the pretty passing tactic though, and unfortunately fell foul of too many pretty passes once or twice.

I came out last night wondering how we managed to lose that - as you say Mussie we created a whole host of chances & although their keeper was arguably their best man our finishing was less than great which remains a concern. When Stewart comes back you can only see there being more chances created & we really need to start finding the onion bag - we keep saying that someone is due 4/5 goal hiding off us but yet to happen, for sure we're playing well enough but someone's gonna have to step up to finish. For sure we'll need a heathier goal difference as so far this year has shown more than any other year I can recall that every team can beat every team on their day - this month will be hard with WHU on Sat'day and both Derby & Soton away....will be a good test of how we're progressing methinks.

I thought Craig Davies looked excellent, Barnsley are skint, we should stick a bid in, he'd probably cost half what Mclean cost.

great performance overall - just sloppy defending and missed chances cost Hull City the game. on another day it could have been at least 4-4 maybe more. the penalty was a joke and if brady had been playing for barnsley i would have called him a Cheat. never felt that fryatt would score anyway as his pens are normally very poor but justice was done when he missed it. that Pen Miss changed the game. barnsley grew in confidence. but if the pen had been converted i think city would have won easily as there confidence looked very fragile at the start.

all in all its been a good week and looking at last nights results more shocks happened. this championship is going to be like this all season and thats why its such compelling viewing. as for the hiding that city promise each game, then why not on saturday when west ham come to town.? the run had to end sometime But with the fixtures city have coming up lets start another one starting on saturday. Possibly.

Has Mick McCarthy shrunk? According to wiki he's 6' 2", but he looked shorter than that last night. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Steve Kean-Blackburn, Mad Mick McCarthey-Wolves, Tony Pulis-Stoke, Ian Barrowclough(scouting for watford) and David Moyes-Everton were in the stands. Thank goodness that James Chester was not on his game last night, Lol.

Buuterfield looked poor to me from what i saw last night and a Barnsley fan i spoke to said he was not PL standard...Yet.

I actually heard him talking from behind me before I even knew he was there. He's one of the few people in football who's voice is more recognisable than his face.

He is from there, but I doubt he still lives there, it's a hell of a commute to Wolverhampton and back.

Relally good to hear that, listening to the commentary I thought it was going to be doom and gloom today. Although Swanny always seemed to think we would get a last minute goal.

Davies hadn't scored until Saturday. Barnsley fan I know said he was rubbish. Dunno if he's changed his mind now?

He's scored in his last two games and has only had five starts and four sub appearances since he arrived from Chesterfield(where he scored 23 in 41 league games last season), if last night didn't change his mind, I suspect the next few games might well do, he looked a real handful to me.
