Are we expecting much activity in the last two weeks of the window? I can't see any big money deals now so are there any loans candidates? Baldock might be a loan possibility if Wet Spam get anyone else in and noone else buys him. Would also solve our apparent lack of bunce issue. McEachran has been mentioned elsewhere but I'd rather have the boy Barkley from Everton who is mustard.

I have a feeling that we are going to go with what we've got now unless we get a last minute problem with someone making us an offer we can't refuse for a key player. Man U's apparent interest in a left back other than Baines today is good news in that regard as Wiggins is deffo in everton's price range.

I think we'll have a couple of long term loans drafted in. Who? I couldn't possibly guess, but I anticipate a young gun and a more seasoned pro.

Doesn't the loans "window" extend after the normal window closes? Or re-open later, or something? The other issue is that so many players these days have simply not had their contracts renewed as clubs are trying to adhere to the new regulations about financial viability, so they are without a club. These players can sign any time throughout the season as only contracted players need a "window". There are a lot of valuable players in that category.

The only one I can really think of would be Russell. I understand that there is usually a list of some sort floating about online which is pretty extensive. Any names in particular that intrigue EF?

Yes, I think we should consider Ricardo Fuller. :)

I still expect Russell to sign up, and only our signing another strong tackling midfielder instead will stop me thinking that way.

Baldock's gone to Bristol City, on a three-year deal - he was wheeled out at half-time last night.

Not that they needed him last night, of course...<laugh>

Apparently ham owed Bristol money for Maynard, so it would have been an easier deal to negotiate. Good signing!

Here's one who would fill a need for us. He might have trouble finding the Premiership team he wants. But I imagine he would want huge wages. As a free agent he can hang on for the best deal. He doesn't have to be signed in the window.

Was on extraordinary wages at Bolton. Considered moving abroad purely down to tax on wages not being as strong, so I think you can see his motive.

That said, he would walk in to any centre midfield berth in the Championship.
