..as someone commented in the WO, "would you take three 1.0 wins now?" Or do you think we´ll need more than just 9 points...a good question really, difficult to say. I´d take 9 points now and 3 goals to the good, however, that might not be enough!
I would - if Norwich and Bournemouth match that then we are sunk but two 5-0 wins and a draw is immeasurably worse
No, as it may not be enough. Ask again on Sunday if we'd take two 1-0 wins - things may be clearer then...
Three 5-0 wins MAY not be enough but you would take those I expect. If you were offered a guaranteed three 1-0 wins or just see what happens which would you pick today?
Simple answer - nobody's going to offer it to us. Smartarse answer - how do you know that Norwich or Bournemouth fans haven't had a better offer? Sensible answer for Mex - yeah of course.
Let's see what tomorrow brings. If Norwich don't win, it's in our own hands. That's all we can ask for.
if we assume that the cherry pickers are not going to drop points . Then after tomorrow night we will know our target 9 points or 9 points plus extra goals
On the last day of the season seconds before the end of the matches, Bournemouth will be one point ahead of both us and Norwich. Both our match and Norwich's will have finished and Bournemouth will be leading by one goal. Charlton will have a corner. Bournemouth will have all their players defending. A Charlton player will go down and the ref will give a very soft penalty, from which Charlton will score.
This is it. We can't really answer Mex's question until tonight. It's one of the biggest games we've never been involved in. My hunch is Norwich will win it but a draw or Boro win means it's all down to us...
Norwich have won there last 5 games and Boro have lost 4 of there last 5 away games. Boro have not drawn any of there last 12 games so it looks like a Norwich win by 1 or 2 goals but hay ho we can dream .COY Boro (sorry dave)
I'd add in Boro's woeful performance against us the other week. Much as I'd like to see them get a point, I can't really see anything other than a home win. But you never know...
