Apparently he was dropped as he spat his dummy out at not being able to be the middle CB in the new formation. Apparently Rafa wanted him to be on the right. Rumour is that Shelvey supported him so he was dropped too. Not sure how I feel about this.
When asked about Lascelles and Shelvey l too thought Rafa looked uncomfortable. I said to my hubby at the time that if l didn’t know better l would think Rafa was lying. I suspect that both are genuinely injured, l mean l really hope there is no problems.
Even if they've had a tiff, which I doubt, then they will sort it out. Lascelles and Shelvey are not arseholes like Ben Arfa or Bellamy, for example.
Honestly thought both Shelvey and Lascelles being coincidentally injured at the same time was fishy. Then I thought that if Lascelles played hoofball againt Cardiff last week, then dared to question 541, he would be lacking the amount of brain cells required to write his own name.
Both players have injuries from what I can gather. Strange formation from Rafa and this season looks set to be a slow painful relegation and Rafa gone before Christmas. To another club and not sacked, I hasten to add.
I think they are looking at Zidane. Although that's pretty bonkers as Mourinho is still one of the best in the world. We'll just have to wait and see who panics first at the top level clubs. Rafa is a quality appointment for anyone. Shame that Ashley will never fully utilise his talent.
You can't question his record. He has won loads. Taking inter to the treble was a massive achievement. It might not be pretty but he does get results.
On Lacelles and Jonjo I was wondering if they had maybe questioned Rafa's intention to completely park the bus and instead wanted to play more football so he pulled them as not being on board. I agree with the tactics to an extent, it nearly worked but Chelsea are not that good in my opinion. We could have got at them more than we did.
They only really work if you get something. Sadly, "getting" a -1 GD as opposed to -6 is now a 'thing'. However, if we hadn't played 9-0-1, would Hazard have had space and time to bag himself a hatful of goals? In all likelihood, yes. It's probably accurate to say that Chelsea looking "not that good" had something to do with facing 9 defenders. We could do with opinions from people not like Redknapp, Souness, etc. These lads were seriously good players in their day and in their mind they'd be thinking they could mix it with the best. But does Matt Ritchie genuinely fancy himself as on a par with Hazard? Is Jacob Murphy really believing he's better than Pedro or Willian? I just don't see it.
