Yes, Taylor might have been naive to believe the patter when he first joined the Club, but he knows what happened in January. Clubs with ambition to get promoted don't break up a 26 goal partnership in January, sell the player who got 14 of those goals and replace him with one who has scored 4. Taylor knows the team has been cheated by RD, but unlike Bowyer our front man isn't willing to just forget about it and move on. I guess Lyle Taylor does not get on quite as well with Duchatelet as Bowyer claims to.
Curious, that Jose Riga is the only person we know of who is apparently a pal of RD and also has any sense of dignity and independence of mind. It was a pity he failed to keep us in the Championship in 2015-16, but I wonder how much input he had in that situation. Maybe very little. Who was buying the useless players? That spotty kid Driesen presumably. When the fans took the sofa apart on that last day, Riga was long gone before the bits of foam began blowing around the pitch.

@lardiman I have a theory that the team hasn’t improved over the last 12 months. The way Luton have flown past us reinforces this. How many points did we accrue last season to finish 5th, and many would we need in the remaining matches this season to beat that total ?
You are looking at the wrong thread @Royston Vasey look at Table 3 on this thread https://www.not606.com/threads/2018-19-season-stats-for-charlton-athletic-updated-13-march.364686/
As AHLL has pointed out, information like this is available on my 2018-19 season stats thread. To answer your question; Charlton finished 6th last season (not 5th) with 71 points. We only need 4 more points from our last 8 games to equal that total. After 34 games last season Charlton had 58 points and were 8th in the league. After 34 games this season Charlton have 67 points and are 5th in the league. This is a definite improvement over last season, in terms of points and league places at least. Many fans seem to believe we are also playing better attacking football, and have a tighter defence. Our one weakness is goal scoring. That could prevent us from being promoted this season - probably our last chance under this owner.

Sorry chaps that the pace of updates has suddenly slowed. I'm having to work longer hours now, which means I'm often too knackered in the evening to add to the posts. It may be that I can only update at weekends from now on. Updates will continue, but at a slower rate for the forseeable... Regards, Lardy
