Despite all of the rumours about Steve Lansdown losing interest in us with the purchase of Bristol Rugby, his son Jon Lansdown has been appointed Managing Director of Bristol City Football Club.

So a Lansdown as MD and a Lansdown as majority shareholder and owner,so much for lack of interest.

I'm looking forward to Bristol Rugby joining us as well.

I do find it funny that with one hand SL states that if the ground for City doesn't go ahead he will take all of his businesses out of Bristol and it will cost Bristol millions but with the other hand he goes and buys Bristol Rugby club so his original threat doesn't have much weight if in the mean time he increases his Bristol portfolio

'I'm looking forward to Bristol Rugby joining us as well'.

I never ever want to share a pitch with a rugby side. I know pitch management/grass has improved but get a dodgy winter and scrum after scrum in p*ssing rain and you will rue the day you wanted Bristol Rugby.

Wize, absolute crap my friend. Junior has been put in charge to ensure that Daddy's money is protected. Agreed to service existing debt but will not tollerate adding to it. I'm afraid you like all others have a few years of austerity to come.

Dont come back with same old Dunfraud rubbish as usual. Just ask yourself why you havent spent large to get yourself out of the **** your in. Bottom line is you are as skint as every other club and need to shed players before you can rebuild. Plus you will struggle to attract players now that you have to be more realistic with your pay structure.

I know you will try and pull my comment down, but there are few on your own board thatt know i am not far from the truth here.

Why should anyone wish to pull your comment down Manga, you've said it all dead right,Jon is MD to protect his dad's investment,BCFC and we are all waiting for the crap signings of 3 previous managers contracts to run out, that is why 2 high cost players have had their contracts paid off and we have at least 6 fringe players out on loan this is not news,Mcinnes also attracted, signed and loaned 3 quality players in the window and another one yesterday, this proves to most of us that players are attracted to sign for us and Lansdown is backing the manager for the long term, clearing out the unwanted, preparing the ground and getting ready for the manager to build his own team for the future.

No comparison with Dunford he is only a minority shareholder with BRFC and his main interest is his ownership of the memorial, with regards to BRFC frankly their asset value is very low, they rent their ground and most of their players are not of high value.

Lansdown owns both club and ground at Ashton so quite right,he has put his boy in charge to protect his assets and investments, that with Bristol Rugby club will make SL a formidable sports force in the South West in the near future,a Championship side and a leading rugby outfit with potentially a super stadium in the offing.

Surely you would agree that means Lansdowns are with BCFC and Bristol Rugby for the long term and it was some of you "gasheads" that said his interest in BCFC was waning and he was looking to get out,now disproven in my view.

Many years ago, before they hit the big time, I worked for SL @ Hargreaves Lansdown. I think it's well documented that he is a successful businessman and I personally saw his drive and determination for success. Beyond this though, he simply refuses to be associated with failure. I would not be overly concerned with the financial losses - that is part of every football club today and until such time that we introduce salary caps, virtually all clubs will continue to lose money. SL would have known this going in, so I have no worries that he will walk based on financial results.

His determination of success will be to bring the best standard of football that the club has enjoyed in decades. No-one can guarantee Premiership football but if we can become a solid club that is always sniffing around the upper echelons of the Championship, we will eventually get to where SL wants us.

I envy the likes of Swansea and to a lesser extent Cardiff. Both similar in size to us but both with new stadia, good support, strong management and now success. Trust in SL and he will take us farther than we have been since the glory days of Alan Dicks.

Still wish he'd remove Sexstone though......

Tampa,I think that one of the reasons Jon Lansdown has been made MD is as a future Sexstone replacement but I didn't think it was prudent to suggest it...

Manga in all seriousness I think you would be better off concerning yourself with your own clubs financial stability.

Nick Higgs was back with his "its all going swimmingly well but I cant tell you how" statements the other night.

What about the rugby rent? the sags cried, "its ok we have got someone else lined up but I cant say who"

Its all back to the same old nonsense from the Mem redevelopment. Big ideas, no Foundations and the sag fans back to the mushroom factory.

    Why would i Banksy,

I'm having great fun watching you boil over!

I am safe in the knowledge that we will have our stadium in the next couple years with or without the rugby club. We have a great manager for our division and the only way is up.

I have to ask the question though mate, what has happened to the Banksy that understands banter and has always made a well thought out arguement. You seem angry and have lost your sense of humour. You have to realize that given the oppertunity to pull your chain we are going too and would expect the very same back from you.

I think you may have to go the doctors and explain that your football club are letting you down badly and you can see no end to the turmoil. And to top it off that Mangadoo bastard and his gashead mates won't give it a rest.. Its taken me 3 years to get off the Prozac!!<ok>

"I'm having great fun watching you boil over"

You need to look closer to home for boiling over, (see your I'm never going to the Mem again section on your board) your delusions only amuse me and then only very slightly...

I have asked a serious and pertinent question in my post above but it must have hit a little bit close to home as you all start coming over "you must be angry" You have made a statement about BCFC financial security now I am questioning yours, I believe it is far more likely you will be in financial trouble way before we are.

Why would that make me " boil over" its actually very funny watching you all hang on to lost causes and even funnier watching you squirm when its pointed out to you..

Anyway, we were considering having a remembrance thread on here for all the sags missing in action since last May

    Something like..

Bluebaldee .. MIA since May 2011, not seen since... (and then a bit about he wasn't all that bad really) ..

there would have been a long list like this and maybe a minutes silence..

but you've all suddenly came back from the dead, so we wont need to bother.. (for now)

I am touched, Banksoy old fella, it was a moving soliloquy.

However, to paraphrase Mark Twain - 'reports of my demise were greatly exagerated!'

Haven't I been posting on here pretty solidly since June 2011? And prior to that on old 606 (before it closed) and JA606?

But hey ho, if it gets in the way of your beliefs, who am I to argue? <hug>
