Arsenal Football Club has today announced that Henri Lansbury has signed a contract extension with the Club. The 20-year-old midfielder, currently on loan with Championship side West Ham United, has reaffirmed his future to the Gunners after signing an extension to the contract he originally penned in December 2009. The Enfield-born youngster featured twice for Arsenal this term before sealing a season-long move to Upton Park on transfer deadline day. Lansbury got off to a flying start with the Hammers at the weekend, netting on his debut as Sam Allardyceâs side defeated Portsmouth 4-3. An England Under-21 international, he featured in this summerâs European Championships in Denmark and scored for the Three Lions in their recent 4-1 qualifying victory over Israel. He has also captained his country at Under-19 and Under-16 level. Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Henriâs continued contribution with the Club in the coming seasons. Good news i think. He looks a good quality player that will help us in the premiership.
canary fan here. was quality for us last season and most fans hoped we could persuade wenger to sell him to us. can't understand why he has been sent out on loan again, with your midfield departures i thought it was his time to breakthrough into the first team squad.
Havent seen as much of him as I would like, but from what we hear he will definitely make the first team. I think Ramsey hasnt looked as good this season so far. I think he will recover from this dip in form, but if not Lansbury will overtake him and get his first team spot. What will we do with Wilshere, Ramsey and Lansbury effectively competing with each other andother players for 2 places.

Cheer mate, thats what I heard from quite a few Norwhich fans, the lad is a very good player and I am delighted he signed another contract at least.
The main reason for this is we already have Wilshere, Ramsey and Frimpong in our midfield who are still not fully proven. Adding another player to the mix like Lansbury, would be far too risky monetary wise. The main aim for Arsenal this season is to get 4th place champions league.This is why we brought in Benny, Arteta and Mertisacker. They are all experienced and seasoned pros that will give us a better chance of achieving this. By the way, i think Lansbury is the type of player we need in the premiership!
