Yes I have one of these. I'm there now.
The old adage says that as one door closes, another opens. And so it is with the latest Australian sprint sensation. With the great Black Caviar's racing career now consigned to history, all eyes are turned to the next cab off the sprinting ranks. Nobody would for a moment dare to suggest that the new boy on the block, one Lankan Rupee, will in anyway supplant the great mare when it comes to race deeds, but he is never the less, one very talented individual.

Today Lankan Rupee took his recent record to six wins from his last seven starts when he tore apart Australia's premier sprint, the Newmarket Handicap, giving him his second Group 1 success. The two video links are the back to back victories. The first is the 1100m G1 Oakleigh Plate, the latter today's Newmarket.

He's in the bright yellow and red.

We don't need him Dex. :) Cookie isn't much of a captain, but when in form, he's pretty handy with bat in hand. I don't know what's going on with the team, but they've certainly dropped their bundle. And it all happened so fast. Amazing.
 
The crash came out of the blue.

I'm sure a lot of purists are glad.

The brand of Andy Flower cricket was attritional and defensive,often involving a deliberately slow over rate,taking an inordinate of time out of the game to set simple fields,ridiculous and disingenuous use of the sub fielder etc..

Good to know that no one is to blame according to Graeme Swann,the rat who left the sinking sink.

He absolved Flower,Cook and Giles (who oversay the ODI AND T20 hammering) of any culpabilty for the drubbing.

Probably all KP's fault.
 
What did the clock tell us Cyc? There were a couple running on nicely at the finish also.
 
The overall time of 1:9:26 was pretty quick, but the record stands at a sizzling 1:7 something. They didn't go all that hard today, but the last 600m was covered in 33:72. His Oakleigh Plate win over the 1100m was carved out in 1:2:72. He's pretty smart Ron. He goes to Sydney next for the T.J. Smith worth $2.5m from memory.
