I've seen that reported too. Can't see it being as simple as that otherwise Tan wouldn't stopped the payments in the first place. More to this than just Tan paying up - the guy isn't that daft.
OS, I reckon he just thought he could cock a snook at the legal system but once the lawyers told him the reality of it, he just had cough up. I do agree with you that this will rear its head again with possibly Tan getting after Langstone to uncover them. But the good thing is the [frankly ridiculous] press scaremongering about administration is over and the club can concentrate on the football side, and hopefully build on their latest away success.
Hear hear to your last para, and I completely agree that WOL and Tucker in particular have milked this garbage about admin as a result - it was never going to happen. On the question of Tan thinking he could get away with it, I doubt he would have waited until the last minute just to cave in as has been suggested. He would have been told the situation and likelyhood of success by his legal team months ago when this first reared its' head. Whatever, I've always said he should pay up to the agreement reached previously with Hamman and stop faffing about with this club.
AT LAST!!! As part of the deal Hamman has admitted he is Langston - it is a company owned and run by him. Tan will pay Hamman just £5M within 30 days and not the £7M he was seeking. A bonus of the difference (just under £2M) will be paid to him if we ever get back to the Prem. TFFT.
Assuming the above is correct, it would show a real commitment on Tan's part if he now capitalised a good proportion of the loans outstanding to him - as he promised some time ago, once the Hammam position was sorted out. I know I've banged on about this for a while but that action would put us in a much stronger balance sheet position and show ongoing faith with the club. Whether or not it would also positively influence the FFP issue going forward is another matter. I'm not holding my breath.
Wol are reporting that it is revealed that Sam is Langstone. Early contender for least surprising revelation of 2016? I think Tan just wanted that out there. I wonder if HMRC will have any interest in the mysterious Langstone now? It's one of the few reasons I can see Tan being so determined to out him.
From a commitment point of view I think Tan's having a pretty strong couple of days tbf. He could have carried on drip feeding Langstone if he intended to pop the club once parachute ends. He could have sold Marshall and noone in this window without replacements. He certainly didn't need to buy Zahore in Belguim just to get him here this window. There must be some pretty complicated accounting issues surrounding the complete capitalisation of his his loans. Absolutely nothing he is doing suggests he's on an exit strategy IMO. It'll be interesting to see what the new lads bring to the run in, I'm feeling more positive than I have done for a while.
But if Macheda leaves today Stevo? I wouldn't say I'm glass half full yet but the bottle has been uncorked and it is starting to pour the first few drops.
At last we get rid of Sam the scam. He has now been proved to be a lying git aswell. A good day all round.
It would be interesting to understand the motive behind Tan flushing Sam out. After all, everyone believed it was him. So, a personal vendetta to discredit Sam in front of the Sam lovers and endear himself to the Sam haters? To put Sam up in front of the authorities from a financial perspective, including lending money to and hocking the club to himself? Will Tan now try to sue Sam for his less than honest handling of the situation (has he actually broken any laws)? Time will tell, but hopefully away from the day to day running of the club! This should now be in the past with no further involvement from Sam in the club and looking forward without this distraction. Tend to agree with Stevo. A good couple days for Tan. Let's see if he can build on that.
Wol says revell is of to MK dons but Macheda's staying! Hooray!! He probably won't even make the bench with the new signings coming in.
So Sam has finally admitted to being Langston, something we've all known for a long time, one of the dodgiest deals I have ever seen, but Atleast our club is now safe for administration, don't let hamman back thru the door again!
Cardiff City Football Club CEO, Ken Choo, has today (26/2/16) issued the following statement. “I am pleased to confirm that the Club has today made full payment to Langston's lawyers in accordance with the agreement made on 1st February 2016 which concluded the long-standing dispute with them. “This has been achieved because of the continuing support and commitment of Tan Sri Vincent Tan to the Club, for which we are very grateful.” Ken Choo Chief Executive Officer Read more at http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news...ement-260216-2975311.aspx#Bic3oTgd0XEUs0ry.99
