hmm. wish I was not going to bed now. That will be rattling through my head for a few hours. Not exactly the most positive comment but then he has always played his cards close to his chest.
He has never committed himself nor has he ever commented on speculation. So I wouldn't worry about it too much, just the way he deals with the media. Does not want anything he says to be taken out of context and used to create rumours. Even if he said yes he is staying that never guarantees a manager will not walk if a job offer comes along.
Just seen this myself via Paddy Davitt (EDP correspondent). I love Lambert but wish he wouldn't **** us about, either he wants to be here next season or her doesn't. Not a difficult question really. Perhaps he forgets that we have feelings too. I know in my heart that he'll still be here, but not pleasant to be messed with.
While if he did leave, it wouldn't the end of the world for us Canaries: He will have left our club, intact financially, no longer with the threat of relegation, secure in the top tier of english football next season, with the league's youngest squad (25 yrs average), with so much potential, pace and ambition, and the attitude of never giving up (which money cannot buy). Keep the core (Ruddy, Ayala, R. Bennett, Hoolahan, Howson, Pilkington, E.Bennett, Holt), the others CAN be replaced (should any go), but without those 8 our season will be a huge challenge. I would like to think that any manager that comes in, should the worst happen, would push our club forward given the current state of supportive board, ectastic fans, brilliant players, healthy finances. Personally, I like Martinez (after the GOD that is Lambert of course )
It's the choice of words really. Not "I take each day as they come" or "it's up to the board to decide" but "hard to say."
am i wrong for being a little annoyed by this? you dont see brendan rogers saying, who knows, when he gets grilled every other week...granted it could be so he gets a decent pay rise, or because he wants more money than the board are perhaps prepared to give - but come on, have a heart pl, you're killing us here...its been lovely not to be a bag of nerves on the final day of the season - instead i'm going to be a bag of nerves all summer...
I was going to say about rodgers! When he was linked with spurs he dismissed straight away and said i have a job to do at swansea and then he also broke his trend of rolling contract to sign a 3 1/2 year contract which shows a sign of commitment not only for him but it will also cost a club for his services and will give the swans money aswell. Lambert is our most prized asset and if he was to go now then we would get sod all for him! Rumours have been on the net that villa have contacted norwich to speak to him, we shall see if thats true soon enough wont we!
He's probably punishing all the moaners and groaners and booers who go to Carrow Road with the sole intention of being negative. He's probably laughing about it now, seeing City fans go into meltdown!
There's a lot of talk on twitter about him going to Liverpool too. This could all be hot air though. When has Lambert ever been keen to reveal his cards to the press? He's the polar opposite of Redknapp. It's part of the reason that the media aren't interested in us- Lambert is very difficult to get anything out of so they move on
I would be devastated if Lambert left, and his sitting on the fence is annoying at times. But if he was to leave I have complete faith McNally will get in a brilliant replacement. I still think Lambert has a job, I think the reason he says it sometimes is because he never feels safe himself, I genuinely think he will stay at least till summer.
Quizzed directly as to whether he would be here next season, the Canary chief paused for thought – before keeping all his options open. “That’s a hard one to answer,” he said simply. “I’ve got a contract here and everyone’s doing great in their own respective jobs, but I’ll see what happens and think about what’s going on and what the team has done. And then wait and see It is alittle bizarre; not really the kind of statement you want from your manager at the end of the season
Mcnallys guna get down on his knees and do anything lambert wants. It requires proper consultation about transfer fees available Etc. lambert will also want to get a good deal for the whole management team Not remotely worried yet
