http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-19839446 As much as I dislike budgies he is taking the Pi55.........
Outstanding manager but a pr**k only out for himself. I get the feeling he'll get his comeuppance eventually!!!
sadly, i don't know. if we believe what the norwich board have said, and i have no reason not to believe them on this, then lambert wasn't given permission to speak to villa because he never gave the club enough time to discuss it. our chairman was away and travelled back but before he'd got back lambert had taken matters into his own hands. lambert probably has a case but then the amount he is demanding is more than three times his annual salary he received in his final season at the club, so that is bang out of order. i have no problem with the way lambert resigned - he clearly wanted out, he'd been talking to villa representatives for some time before (technically tapping up but then we did that to colchester - these things happen in football) so had he just walked out and gone to villa i was fine with that, but this is different. this is a case of him trying to point score over our board as far as i'm concerned. the only people who will win are lawyers. lambert isn't exactly short of a bob or two. lambert is very clever. very very clever. we all knew he was ruthless but this takes the biscuit a bit to be honest lads
He resigned to take up the job he wanted. You didnt refuse his resignation did you? Cant see where he is coming from and I am fully backing you guys on this one. As you said he had a good career and certainly doesnt need the money. Why dump on the people that made your reputation so high in the first place. I hope you stuff Villa and put one over him. Its not just him but the modern game is full of grade A ****ers.
as far as i'm aware, mcnally initially refused his resignation because chairman bowkett wasn't even in the country. lambert then gave him an ultimatum so he then rushed back from his holiday but lambert had walked before bowkett got back. i suppose the fact he was tapped up by villa will have no bearing on matters. as i say, we can't moan about that as we lured lambert in a similar fashion. as i said elsewhere, he'll probably win his case because permission was initially denied but he really shouldn't even be trying to do this. this action sums the game up perfectly.
have you ever heard of the league managers association NOT backing one of their own? they even backed dalglish in the suarez case doesn't mean anything but as i said on a different thread, managers always seem to win these sort of cases.
What goes around comes around. After the way McNally treated Col U you wouldn't expect Lambert to think twice about this.
agree. doesn't make it right though. especially when you consider that we were heavily fined for taking lambert. villa haven't even paid us for lambert and now WE are supposed to be paying again? its a ridiculous situation but sums football up. all about the money. well and truly fed up with it.
it's not all about the money Supers. It's that he left with a bad feeling in his mouth and if he holds the club in contempt and has the chance to make £2m why wouldn't he?
well i'd like to think he would be above that sort of thing. sadly i'm wrong... now we're suing him as well. honestly, its such a sorry mess. i'd rather he just have gone, clean break, without all this malarky going on. i don't even care about the compensation now. it won't be helping our nor his cause i should imagine. villa aren't exactly 'flying' themselves right now. they should have been beaten by west brom at home at the weekend.
Supers, my understanding is that he had a clause in his contract that at the end of last season he was free to talk to other parties....is this true.?
no idea and couldn't care less anymore to be totally truthful! football is doing my nut in right now. sick of it. sick of moaning fans. sick of the racism cases. sick of the money involved. sick of sky changing kick off times. sick of ticket prices. sick sick sick
If you dont like moaning fans Supers then I would stay well away from these pages. I agree with the sentiment though mate. I thought it was just the premier league that was selling its soul but it appears to be the majority of clubs. Maybe we should organise a not606 trip to some olde worlde ground in the conference for a chance to regain some faith.
I have no sympathy with the Budgies over this! After all lets remember that they raped Col Who to get lambert in the first place so in my book you reap what you sow!
