If Pearsons sacking had happened, it would probably be controversially thought that he'd left them after we poached him. To be honest, hes probably now the best unemployed manager, bar Ferguson (Alex). There were some piss poor options out there to replace Pearson at the time, but would have taken Lambert, as hes slightly better.
Have to agree, Lambert may have done a piss poor job at Villa, but they're also structurally very unstable. He did a great job at Norwich, however, who were in League One when he joined, a la Pearson.
