..... To lead his battling team on a lap of honour next Sunday. Who would have dared to believe we could go to Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Etihad and now the Emirates and not look out of place against the megastars who play their home matches on those grounds. There we were, with a team made up mostly of players who not long ago were in the lower reaches of the football leagues and giving the top teams in the PL a match. Much was said before the beginning of the season that we needed a striker capable of 'scoring 15 - 20 goals a season' and we've found one; who cost less than a 10th of what some forwards were being bought for and he has outscored all of them!!!!! Yes, there have been a few matches recently where the passion seems to have been missing from our play, but from listening to the commentary today, it was back in abundance. I really think we need to start with 2 strikers - ie GH plus one other. Also, RM should either play at CB, or be on the bench, as he was regularly getting beaten by speedy wingers when playing at RB. Just hope that PL will still be our manager next season and am eagerly awaiting to see who he let's go and who he brings in 'to give the lads a hand'!!!
I have lived a long time following The Canaries, I've enjoyed several highs on the way, we won't mention the lows, but I can't remember ever feeling happier or prouder of my team than right now!
I must say initially, the title of the post worried me! Not that I thought he was going, I thought you were going to say he was GAY
Well Dave - I've only really been a fan for the last 10 years and my lowest point (other than the 6-0 at Fulham) was when we went down to League 1 a few short years ago and then the first game against Colchester. I was fortunate enough to be in the crowd for the return leg and how good that felt. I was also in the crowd when the Admiral's goal sealed our promotion back to the championship. Never in my wildest dreams did I see us scoring 3 at the Emirates and if my memory serves me correctly, it's only OT where we've failed to score against the top teams - I wonder how many other teams can say that this season. I'm sure there are many happy Canary fans in the bars in Norwich (and elsewhere) tonight and rightly so!!!!
And there is only one more side who can double us to join only the Manchester teams! Not a bad achievement I must add!
