I see those Villa fans who were crying out for Lambert to take over when he was enjoying his success at Norwich are now calling for him to be sacked. Never got that kind of reception from the City fans when he was here & has never enjoyed the same amount of success at Villa as he did at Norwich. Villa maybe a so - called big club but it was a wrong move Mr Lambert
I will not be losing any sleep over that Jedi. His times were great and we appreciated what he did but he moved on and so did we.
It was a messy break up but I tend to dwell on the good times with Lambert , I dread to think where we would be without the amazing instant success he brought and like any other fans if we were in a relegation scrap scoring just 1 goal since December I'm pretty sure we would be calling for him to be sacked too. I would rather see QPR relegated than Villa to be honest mainly out of morbid fascination as to what the FA would do to them for completely ignoring the rules. I can't stand Tony Fernandez Rio Ferdinand or Joey Barton. There are rumours that Laudrup will take over which would be a shame.
IMO, he was the right manager at the right time for us and certainly got the players playing well and believing in each other. I agree that without his time in charge we'd be lucky to have got out of league 1. I also believe that he too would have struggled to keep us in the Premier League had he stayed, as other managers had worked out his tactics and I seem to remember that we lost most of our games towards the end of the season under his tenure. I agree that I would love to see QPR go down, as they were extremely lucky to beat Derby in the play-off final.
SN - that would NOT be a match made in heaven, I can promise you. Laudrup, for all his magnificent playing career, has yet to prove himself as a manager. He always arrives with huge amounts of energy and enthusiasm for the job, but as soon as the newness has worn off, he burns out, and very quickly loses interest. He did it at Swansea and has done at all his previous clubs, apart from Getafe, where he stayed for slightly longer. He also has an unfortunate tendency to get at loggerheads with his owner, which, with the volatile Fernandes could easily lead to some fireworks.
I'll never forget PL's comment that there were "things the fans didn't know about" when he left us and I remember thinking at the time that he should f*ck off if he wasn't prepared to 'put up' or 'shut up'
Exactly, if you have a beef and you're going to allude to it in the press then just be a man and say what it is. This cloak and dagger bullshit
Oh what a fickle bunch you are! I seem to remember all you lads praising him up to high heaven when he was winning matches and promotions for you but now you wouldn't even piss on him if he was on fire! Wow what gratitude to show for your most successful manager ever!
Seems most of us have said we fully appreciate him for his time here, and see him as a legend. We can still be annoyed at the manner of his departure and take some morbid joy from watching him struggle at Villa. Atleast we've had successful managers in the last 10 years!
That smell of Binner-fear is delightful isn't it? I just love it when they stink of panic and nervousness, grasping on to any remotely plausible wind-up with complete disregard for logic. They did this last time we picked up a couple of victories and looked like getting back to normal. Come on Binners, panic a little more to really help my mood
what, like the panic that spread on your matchday thread about 9.15 last night. that was pure comedy gold!
well the darklord got sunderland promoted, MickMc has got numerous clubs promoted, Porno also had success! like I say, just a shame it hasn't been with us!
Christ we really have had some **** managers over the past few years, thank Christ we have got MickMc.
Couldn't agree more, thank Christ you've got MickMc and Top Cat, I certainly wouldn't want them at my club, we need to set our sights higher than a decent Championship but failed PL management team!
