I would be amazed if PL get's the bullett at Villa! The job he has got is a huge one and it does appear that the Villa fans understand the situation and are willing to give him time to turn it around. I have a mate who is a die hard Villa fan and he believes that PL will do well in the long run. Believe it or not but I have a lot of admiration for him and I wish him well. I am also pretty certain that 99% of Norwich fans wish him all the best as well.

hughton is under very little pressure in my opinion. he has been given the season to try and keep us up. if he fails narrowly then i fully believe he will be given next season to take us back up again. if we go down bottom on 20 points then i think he'd have to leave but realistically we won't. that's one of the reasons he was appointed - to give some stability. lambert however is under pressure to improve his team. i'm sure he'll at least get the season too unless they are cut adrift.

i think you need to ask a wider range of villa fans their views. they are already growing impatient, wrongly in my opinion. as you say, to turn villa around is a long term project. so many of their fans are already calling for redknapp to take over... what planet do these people live on?

I'm pleased you wish him well JWM, as do I, but I think you could be wrong about the Villa faithful, there were some ominous rumblings in his direction from the home fans on Saturday!

    Edit:- Snap Supers!

If this is correct it is odd that they were booing at the end of the game

dave, there was a lot of booing at full time, and i mean a lot! they are a very disgruntled set of supporters at the moment because of what has happened over the past few years and had expected a bit more from lambert by this stage i think. easy from the outside to see there was never a quick fix but for them, living in their bonkers 'we should be top six' world, they are finding it hard to accept that they are not very good. i didn't think, hand on heart, they'd go down until i saw them at the weekend. now i think they are a shoe-in unless major investment arrives in january, regardless of how good lambert is.

Before the Arsenal game, we had our own collection of (pink-un) supporters who were making their feelings clear about Hughton's future. I think thats the case with most clubs. The better read, more sophisticated (Not606) supporters are a little more patient and understand that its going to take time.

I'm only going on what my mate is saying and has been a ST holder at Villa Park for over 30 years! You will always get some idiots who expect instant miracles at any club but to actually boo him is just unbelievable. PL is one of the best young managers in the domestic game and it will take time to turn that club around. You know PL better than I do and I believe that this was the challenge that he was looking for. He doesn't strike me as being someone who rests on his laurels and I mean no offence but perhaps he thought that he had gone as far with you as he could go.

The Villa fans who were booing likely included a good number of those who were chanting his name at Carrow Road in the last game of last season. They wanted him, they got him. Some folks are never satisfied! <ok>

Lambert looks haggered, tired and a shadow of what he was in his Norwich peak.

Look at him in championship Norwich mode

Now he looking like he couldn't run a bath. Wheres the inspirational leader of men that we knew. He looks like Tony Blair in his second term. Knackered

Cheers for the years Lambert, but your like a Porche with 100,000 hard miles on the clock. You've still got the engine in there, the willing, but your days climbing the alps and picking up women in the French Riviera are behind you.

I actually don't wish him well at all, would like to see Villa go down this season. I did want him to do well, but after the whole him suing are club business came out, I hope he fails.

Like Supers said as well, If we go down this year Hughton will have next year to try and get us back up.

I would have wished him the best, had he not gone to Villa. They were a big club but their squad is very average and I don't think he has the spending power to dwarf that of Norwich.

Had he gone to Liverpool, Spurs etc. etc. then I would have wished him all the best. That said, I was also not impressed by the way in which he left the club - it was poor.

But I don't care, he's yesterday's news. I like Hughton an hope he does well here - I think he will. We look more solid under him.

Totally agree with this. A good majority of Villa fans are living in the past when they still had Milner, Barry and co, but for reasons best known to Lerner, the club has been stripped of its most influential players and they have not been replaced, so realisitically it is going to take several years for them to get back to their former glory (if they ever do) and it is going to take quite SERIOUS investment to do it, not try and sign prospects from lower leagues - that was and still is OK at NCFC, but Villa fans don't have that sort of patience.

Can't see Hughton especially being remotely considered for the sack regardless of where we finish this season!!!

JWM. How would you feel if Paul Jewel or Roy Keane were sueing Ipswich for unfair dismissal?

Grateful if got us into prem, not grateful the way he left.

The fact he is suing us is ridiculous, trying to claim 2 mill is showing no respect to our club, i don't know the full details, and there are two sides to a story but fact is he is trying to sue the club, over a saga which he got what he wanted at the end of it anyway.

And also who he left us for. Would like him to realise that villa on their current squad and finances was side step at best. No doubt they are a bigger club than us but a club going in the wrong direction. Which makes their stature insignificant at the moment.
