http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/rss/ Adam interview in the Echo. Players need to take some of the blame etc. Now the dust has settled after the weekend it's time to stop moaning and just get behind the manager and the squad. Yes Nigel has made mistakes but who doesn't as they learn new skills. I'm confident he can turn this around and he clearly still has the support of the players which is vital. Team effort got us back in the PL and it's a team effort that will keep us there and that includes us fans. At the end of the day we all want the same thing success for Saints! COYR!
Knew we could rely on you to set the right tone for the week Lamb! Mind you, there are a few people on that Echo board that remind me of certain people on here!
Yes Lamballana, we need to get behind them. I hope the fans stick with them at St Mary's on Sunday even if things go bad. It will be embarressing if we start booing and giving out to the team. There is still time. If we can pick up a win then the confidence could return. It's going to be a very tough game. With reference to your last comment, I'm not convinced that all Sainst fans want that!!
Time to ignore him when he blatantly drags your positive thread towards the gutter mate. Keep the positivity.
What formation are we going to play on Saturday ? Do you think he will ever do that again ? Will he ever drop Lambert for the sake of a defensive formation ? Thinking about this is there a valid reason not to play an old system of 4-4-1-1 with Rodriguez behind Lambert ?
I agree with what he says , but the right players need to be given the chance. Lambert Reeves K Davis Mayuka Seaborne ( even he must think he could get ahead of Yoshida) Play them, and in there right positions they can then take more responsibility. Davis when in goal aginst the top teams in the country didn't do that badly. I have also heard many times that he is super for morale and that is also very important.
Now that's better some constructive comments about future formations! Personally I think Saturday showed Spurs are vulnerable against pace so I'd play Mayuka and see what he can do!
I dont rate our defence full stop ,we need to attack and play an aggressive and if need be high tempo game to put them under pressure becasue at the other end we panic as soon as the ball comes near our area , if you are terrible at one thing be good at another .
Yes tbf he's done well in the middle. Not his fault he's had to play most of the last two matches out of position!
I'm not convinced to be honest, but it is early days. I just think that If we're gonna play a CB at LB then Seaborne cant be any worse and he's pretty mobile. For me.. axe Fonte for Yoshida and play Reeves at LB Play Lambert up top with Mayuka and Lallana either side. oh and put Davis back in goal!
like gomarchinin I'd love to see a return to 4 in midfield and 2 forwards. With maybe either Lallana, Mayuka, Gaston (injured)? or J-Rod, behind Lambert up front. Not sure about Lallana's captaincy, think it needs to be someone a bit tougher, older and louder, like Lambert. Also we need to cement in place a GK and a CB partnership, and for me that has to be Fonté and Maya from what I've seen of them play together.
Hang on, how come Fox played for Scotland in the break but missed Everton and West Ham? We missed him, yes really.
I agree completely. Maya had already proven last week that he is a terrible left back (he's a right footed CB), and yet we played him there again. Unbelivable.
What choice did Nigel have though. No Butters, Richardson or Fox all injured and Shaw isn't match fit either!
That's what I'm asking though, was he injured and was it the same thing from before the break, in which case why did he play for Scotland? Or could Scotland just leave our players alone, they aren't gonna qualify anyway.
