There's also the St Johnstone striker we've been linked with several times.... I forget his name.

Personally I think I'd get rid of Pitman and look to bring in a couple. Depends on whether Del tries to sign Wood permanently too ?

It appears to me from the body language between them Del And Pitman don't get on..

Francesco Sandoza ? (something like that?)

I think "being tracked by former Gers star Derek Mcinnes" will become a staple phrase for Scottish journalists this summer..

Good price for him, wonder how many other clubs will be in for him?

Francisco Sandoza has been linked since Del came here, other clubs interested in him. I would of thought he would go somewhere in Jan, but wonder if Del said to him wait till the summer to see what league we are in. As Sandoza spoke really highly of Del saying that he was the best to work for. Just as Del came to us.

Who knows but I think Pitman will be going, as Del likes hard working players Pitman just seems to want to prove himself when he's a sub, gets a short run in the team and proves to be lazy. Does not strike me as a team player.

Wood I really do wonder given his age could become a good forward, combined goals for us and Birmingham 14 goals in 47 with 21 of them as sub. Would be interesting to see minutes played?

Midfield I think Skuse has risen to a challenge that Del has set him, when he came back from injury has been a man possessed in his tackling. Also noticed he has become more vocal. Maybe build a midfield around him?

sandaza is the name, scoring goals is his game, would love for us to sign him, as for woods???? he plays ****e all the time for us, he could be a different player in a confident team, like he was at Birmingham, would be worth a cheeky bid but nothing over 700k

Sandazza and Lafferty are both big strong strikers who may not score bags of goals but they would both cause chaos around them leaving openings for midfielders. If they were both bought and paired together I think that would be a mouthwatering combination. Add the fantastic attitude and work ethic of Stead into the mix and we might actually have a strike force to take on this division. Who knows what will happen over the next few weeks but this is one rumour I would love to be true.

Del seems to want players who will fight for the cause and as such I cant see Pitman having a future at the club as his attitude is very poor.

A tough hard working and disciplined side built in the style that Del himself used to play. It may not be pretty to watch, it probably wont win us promotion. But it would give us mid table stability and a platform to build on over the coming years. That to me sounds like a plan.

'Lafferty, as we revealed at the start of this month, is available for a knockdown £500,000 in the summer.

He still has a year of his contract left and Gers would normally seek at least £1.5m for him.'

Probably cost in excess of £1.5m, more if they go up this year.

Club have banned him for the rest of the season and have stated that they will look to sell in the summer to make some money with a number of clubs interested.

Think he missed quite a lot of the season with injury as well with is a concern. I would if we still have scouts look abroad as I am sure there are plenty of players abroad that wont cost much but are able to score goals.

As for Pitman his contract is up at the end of next season so would be best to sell sooner than wait and go through what we had with Nicky as he will want more first team football and an increase in wages which I dont think we can offer to either demands. Stead is also out of contract next season so is a players that city either need to sign up or look at can we replace him with another player.

Cole Skuse again is out of contract next season so DM needs to offer him a long term deal and appoint him as captain again or as Sky call him Colo Sku-say.

All quite up in the air, apparently Lafferty agreed with the administrators when he took a wage cut that he could leave for £500k before June 1st. That's set in stone so regardless of new transfer embargo, if we stump up the cash we get him for £500k.

Basically him and McCoist have fallen out, from what I can gather Lafferty needs a hernia operation and in his opinion can't play until he's had it cos it hurts but McCoist wanted him to report in the squad for Hearts game and cancelled his operation. Lafferty then got pissed off and didn't turn up for the team coach and instead booked another operation, McCoist then cancelled this second operation and banned him for not turning up to the team coach. All very bizzare and wouldn't surprise me if McCoist is making the most out of it to get the fans on his side as if these events actually happened, he looks a bit of a dick.

Lafferty is quite a player - but he comes with baggage: injuries, attitude, diving... You pays your money, you takes your choice. McInnes will be well aware of what he's buying, if indeed there's a scrap of truth in this rumour. I would expect bigger clubs than us to be interested.

I suspect we will be a mini Scotland next season - no harm in him buying from a league he knows (has worked for Paul Lambert at Norwich)

Time for us all to add the (once almost obligitory in the GJ days) "In Delboy we trust" to our signatures!......he will know better than most of us lot what the guy is about. Sandoza has been mentioned everywhere since Del arrived here though......
