In an unprecidented moment of taste australian t.v has just shown a documentary on the making of "exile on main street " followed by " ladies and gentlemen...the rolling stones " vintage live stones. was ****ing magic. puts that pish that was geting talked about oasis into perspective
Never really liked The Stones tbh. Preferred The Who. Think Jagger is a bit of a ****. Not a patch on Keith Moon
the stones are quality altho can someone please tell me how the verve got screwed by the stones for 'Bittersweet symphony' for sounding too much like 'the last time' they sound completely different
Nev , the verve never got a penny for bittersweet ( or very close ) the whole song is built around that ochestral sample which the verve lifted from the london symphony ochestras version of sympathy for the devil <stonesanorakmuir>
Don't mind the Stones but prefer The Who, Kinks, Bowie. Would happily pay to see any of them (and have done) but wouldn't pay to see the Stones, especially now when all they care about is making ****ing money!
Ive seen the stones once......hamden , the steel wheels tour I think ; was a lot better than I thought it would be ; they toured again maybe about 5 years ago , I used to live not too far from hamden - near the battlefield monument - at the top of a hill and remember drifting off to sleep one summer to the sound of the stones playing "you cant always get what you want "...not often you get to lie in bed and listen to the stones play live.
