I'd say there are two top top top ;) worldies in the Prem at the moment.

    Haza and Aguero.

Think back to the 00s and how many players we would have at least claimed were worldies.

    Any more offers than H & A?

I guess Ya Ya, Kompany, Sanchez etc could be considered.

When Suarez left it did leave a void, so many great moments (and bad) from 1 player. It highlighted the lack of skill and excitement in the PL. There are players who may have great moments but the PL really does lack the type of player that performs week after week.

Week after week? He was banned for a big chunk of those weeks, despite never getting sent off.
Very good player, though. Total ****house, of course, but good player.

When he played he was a constant source of entertainment is what I mean, the kind of player that gets you off your seat and that is something that is lacking at the moment.

He often got people off their seats shouting, "What the **** was that?! Dirty, cheating bastard! <grr> ", though.
Entertaining in a variety of ways and the Premier League could do with more characters, but he was still a ****house.
Liverpool's Cantona with added racism. <ok>

The Premier League is a poorer place without him though, not sure anyone can deny that.

Yeah I imagine as a fan of another club he was less entertaining. <laugh>

Fact is though he's one of the best players in the world and along with Ronaldo and Messi he's playing in another league. Are any of the top 10 players in world footy in the PL?

Maybe one of Hazard or Aguero?

I'd still like to see Hazard be more consistant in front of goal to really cement his place in the elite, well I don't want to see it but you get what I mean.

Aguero is surely in with a shout but so injury prone it again makes you think twice. The Bundasliga and La Liga certainly seem to have all the real quality and it's showing in the Champions League.

Yeah it is those clubs who have the really big talent but elsewhere in those leagues are also players that are of the standard of PL players so they have the big stars and what we have.

  12. Too much emphasis is placed on "star" players, and not enough on building a team. Put Messi, on his own, up against your average pub-league side, and he'd get screwed every time.

It's a team sport, something that seems to get forgotten by plastic fans and a certain type of so-called professional footballer.

Well it wouldn't really be a team sport if he was on his own up against 11 other players.

Alexis Sanchez is definitely in that group of World Class players. I'd also add Santi Cazorla as he's just as highly rated at Arsenal, if not more so.

I know Cazorla doesn't make the Spain first XI, so can't really considered to be 'world class' but that's only because Xavi and Iniesta have been permanent inclusions in that team.

We've probably got the biggest name in world football to play on England. Bastian ****ing Schweinsteiger.

    Big name indeed.

Please tell me that you are being dense on purpose, even if only in the forlorn hope that you are being "funny!"

You've got a monopoly on dense on here mate <ok>

But if Messi was on his own up against 11 other players, then how can it be a team game ?

    Like who?

    Genuine stars.

There are a few mid range ones like Rooney and Sanchez.

    Aguero.
