Yeah, but did you also notice as soon as we sacked Bullard the Libyan rebels started to win the civil war? Now some people think those two facts are completely unconnected, but I'm not so sure! please log in to view this image
At times your 'devils advocate' stance should prompt serious discussion on here. That it doesn't is due to your frequent and ridiculous comments such as this latest offering regarding your hero.
I'm just saying, if I had a colleague who was treat the way he was, I'd have a hard time motivating myself to work for that company.
Hmmm, if I had a colleague who had been signed off sick for the majority of time I had worked with him, and whilst he was off sick getting pissed up, and for that matter when he was working getting pissed up, getting paid vastly more than me and showing no respect to his colleagues, his management or his customers, frankly I'd be arranging an office party celebrating the back of the ****
Hmmm, if I had a colleague who fell out with the boss' mate, and was then forced out the company, I wouldn't be too happy. If I had a colleague who was degraded and made to work with the interns, all because an egotistical chairman wanted to blame him instead of himself, I wouldn't be happy. What is the reason behind the poor performances then? Just poor management in general?
Tell us Percy, of the 20+ players in our squad, how many have you spoken to? Did you ask their opinions in an unbiased, impartial manner, not conducive to giving the answers you so wished to hear? Have/will you be collating this information into an easy-to-read newsletter for Hull-supporting Not606 users to browse?
None at all, and unlike some on here I don't claim to best mates with players after saying hi to them in the street, or meeting them at a book signing or something, I'm merely just throwing out suggestions. Another take on things, if you will, I doubt it's as cut and dry as some make it out to be.
Bullards own behaviour and actions has created the current situation. He is a disruptive influence. Ashbee led astray being the best example. Being made to work with interns? Well Bullard didn't seem to mind pissing it up with the interns ... Cairney and Cooper did he? Poor performances due to Bullards treatment. So how would you explain the rather splendid away form last season, when there was still the ill feeling from all quarters (apart from you) towards Bullard?
For me,Perky gave himself away as to how much of a city fan he really is after the Ipswich win. There are ways of announcing your joy at your teams victory. Like, Get in there lads,You beauty's,or Yeeeeeeeeeees. But Perk proclaimed that he was "pleased". Take a look at that post and read between the lines folks !
The thing about Jimmy was, he just....wasn't that good a footballer. He is a drug addict, an alcoholic and a complete waste of our time and resources. If he was as exceptional as you make him out to be mate, NP would have been forced to play him, but he wasn't so he didn't. He was ok at Fulham, but he shone in a pretty poor side that season. He was naff at Peterboro and average at Wigan. £5m was far too much then, in the 2 years he has been here, that's a lot of money spent on him, not to mention all the specialists and expenses we paid for him to see. The only novelty was that he was a household name in the PL, more for his appearances on Soccer AM than for his feats on the pitch; again, before the Fulham survival season, he was a nobody. Leicester seem to be doing the same thing we used to, they are buying players which everybody might have heard of once, such as Gelson Fernandes and David Nugent, but in reality they are average players. Maybe a bit harsh on GF there, but hearing about him week in week out, he doesn't sound any better than Tom Cairney (who I really rate).
Jimmy is, of course, a flawed genius who is his own worst enemy. I do believe that if he was through on goal and could get a laugh by missing it he would miss it every time. He loves to delight rather than dazzle. On other occasions (sadly, all too few) he showed his class when he got the ball by quickly changing the direction of play before charging forward to draw a defender (or two) leaving our strikers with a bit of space. He is a 'love-him-or-hate-him' player who will not be remembered kindly by the majority of the Hull City die-hard supporters but, who will ever forget his 'take-off' of Phil Brown's infamous 'keeping-the-players-on-the-pitch' for a half-time lecture incident? Perhaps a 'victim of circumstances' through his huge transfer fee, outlandish wages and consequent injuries to his knees, Jimmy almost had it all and will probably reflect in his old age on "what might have been" but from what I gather I don't think he would change a thing and would do it all again whilst singing "My Way"! Personally, and I am making no excuses for his off-field behaviour or his tenure with us, I wish the bloke well and hope he has a 'last-hurrah' in him so he can go out with the proverbial 'big-finger' stuck well and truly in the air at those who hate him whilst at the same time saying sorry to all those who felt let down by him. This is possibly Percy's most clueless thread/biggest wum article yet, can't believe anybody with half a braincell would think anything like this.
oh please shut up You Footballing Usurper. Percy you need bitch slapping with a kipper accross your face. will you ever give up on bullard. he is dead as far as hull city is concerned. no more for this waste of space.
I agree with the Leicester thing, but come on Bullard is an amazing player. That much shouldn't really be up for debate, he scores from 30 yards out in like half the games he plays. He was a complete cut above the rest of the Fulham squad, our PL squad, our NPC squad and Ipswich's. He's miles too good for this level and he should have become an icon amongst our fans. Looking back I can't believe how unlucky we've been with him and how it can have gone so wrong. Obviously the best thing now is to get rid and spend the cash elsewhere (if possible) but for me at least, it'll be with a hint of sadness when he does leave, thinking about what could have been.
Is it wrong that I actually understand what Percy is trying to say. However the rest of the squad are highly paid footballers who probably earn more in a week than I do in several months, so if they've lost their motivation, they should get over it or get out of the club, I wouldn't want someone not 100% committed to Hull City at the club if they can't be bothered to put the effort in
The question he asks is have the players lost their motivation because of Bullard being booted out, as if they are going to down tools because he was sacked? Tripe of the highest order!
