There's a very important fixture tonight that could see us go through to the quarter finals and it looks as if we are due a poor attendance according to people I've spoken to,even lower than the last round unless there's a large walk up.I'm curious to gauge views on here to see which is the main reason.

With my little pick and shovel I'll be there.

    Lack of enthusiasm imo.

A possible league cup quater should be given more credit than it currently is, but ultimately people are entitled to their own opinions.
Doubt we'll have the same problem if we're playing Liverpool or Utd in the QF's.

    Ditto.

Bought my ticket 3 weeks ago, well worth a tenner.

With it being half term I think there might be a few extra this round, kids only £1 in the family stand.

    Pick & shovel time.

This tie hasn't captured the imagination, but know doubt the usual diehards will be there <ok> I know a mate of mine is taking his three lads, and he is a guy that can only afford to go to regular fixtures three or four times a season, as he says for a regular game he needs a "spare" £100 not easy to come by with a young family, and as it's half term we may get a few more like him, he's not really a plastic, he goes whenever he can, so there may be quite a few walkups...............I doubt many will come from Burnley, so I'm expecting around the 10,000 mark, lets hopefully get this one out of the way and hope for a "glamour" tie in the next round <ok>

    My prediction 3 - 1 City

Alas I have work 'till 5:30 then an evening of revision and alaysis as I have an exam coming up in 3 weeks that if I pass will spell the end of almost 5 years of college/uni.....

Gutted as I was at the Leicester game (with a Leicester supporting work colleague actually) and thoroughly enjoyed it. it's been tough so far this year with one thing and another to get over the bridge but will certainly be getting updated via the PC tonight.

Anyone heard from Benni recently? Just hoping he is ok with the flash flooding etc that's been reported. How has it been down your way Milford?? hope all is well?

Benni is okay, he has plenty of posts on twitter.

I can see where your mate is coming from, I took my 3 Grandsons to the Parma game, cost a small fortune. Travel costs, Tickets, McDonalds, Programmes, drinks in the stadium. I didn't have much change from £120 at that price twice a season treat.

    Milford & Brizzle
Yes it's hard for you guys with work & travelling hope you get it on the radio okay.

Agree with Stevoldinho - Lack of enthusiasm

It's been like that at Carrow Road for years and years. Averaging 10000-14000 in the early stages against 'small' opposition - people just don't get a buzz and only the real die hard fans attend. However the FA Cup is very different.

For you guys - Burnley are not exactly a crowd puller so there is nothing to get excited about. It would be very different if it had been say Leeds, West Ham, or a bigger PL team, I am sure that would get a near full house. Hopefully you will progress, get a home draw against a big team that has a good away following and you can fill it up and cash in <ok>

Cheers Rhondda, I can usually make it over for the evening games with enough time to spare to grab a pint but with the impending exam I have (rightly or wrongly) prioritised my education on this occasion :emoticon-0118-yawn:

Milford, I'm good thanks mate, good to hear you are ok down West and Rhondda, thanks for the update on Benni :emoticon-0100-smile

Thai canary - Thanks for the good wishes mate, good result for your boys on the weekend. I watched the game round the in-laws house and took great delight in my Liverpool supporting father-in-laws anguish at watching them cave in under the pressure...

Hope you guys keep up your good form for the rest of the season :)

Glad to hear it's on BBC Radio Wales. Now all I have to do is to see if I can get it thru my TV Digibox thingy, won't get reception otherwise here in deepest Wiltshire.

Come on, win this and then entry into a QF, that's not to be sniffed at. :emoticon-0100-smile

The way is see it is pretty much like this. I pay £620 a year for mine and Tom's season ticket then slap another £20 per game on top for bits and pieces plus a tenner a month to the youth academy plus petrol and parking then you are looking at a sizeable amount of money. I will be there tonight with Tom and two of his mates who i will invariably pay for, but these extra games are one step to much for lots of people due to the cost, as you know most of our support is from the surrounding areas so most have to travel to the match, i would go as far to say that season ticket holders should be allowed in for less than a tenner. I think there will be a large walk up for tonights game due to it being half term and would be suprised if there is less than 12,000 at the match, Burnley will probably bring a mini bus worth down with them so that will also add to a poor attendance, of course people will make the effort should we play a BIG Premiership club, however someone like Bolton would probably only attract the same size crowd as what we will have this evening.

Not playing judge and jury on this one by the way,I'm just wondering how relevant the Carling Cup is in these tough times. As others have already commented it's the add ons like travel, food, drinks etc that make the initial cheap entrance fee slightly less appealing when you've already forked out for a season ticket or are not too far away from paying for next years.I did wonder if some were saving their hard earned for the trip to Bellend Road.

Bobby - It's just a lack of enthusiasm for CC games for me me rather than economics - not bragging, but the bargain admission price for this one shouldn't be a huge factor.

The CC has been devalued to a great extent, and seen by many clubs as a nuisance competition. I don't necessarily subscribe to that, but I just find the Championship tussles more gritty and fascinating. Suppose that must make me look like a bit of a fair weather supporter.

I have to admit I haven't been to any CC games for as long as I can remember. In fact, the last home cup game of any sort I attended was the JFH wonder goal game against Wolves in the FA.

I'll also admit that after the Boro game at the Riverside that followed, I took full advantage of our success by taking up my options for the Barnsley and Pompey games at Wembley, and I'd probably do the same again if we should get that far in the CC.

I wouldn't blame anyone if I got a few comments on this, but they say honesty is good for the soul.

Like I said Spark I'm not judging anyone as circumstances can vary from game to game.I'm not one to subscribe to this fairweather or plastic fan nonsense.A fan is a fan.

Looks as if the CCS is starting the Halloween theme early tonight. There's a DEADMAN reffing the game.<ghost><ghost>
