4 of our 7 subs today were defenders.

Only 'impact players' we had were, apparently N'Guessan is an impact sub but he hasn't appealed to me in the slightest so far.

We had no strikers. Gobern and N'Guessan were our only mids.

Surely if we are bare thin up front then it wouldn't hurt to put a couple of youth players in. Maybe Holder-Spooner or Ward-Prowse...

    We need options, NOW!

NA, Please dip into the loan window and find gems like AP did.

I think Ben Reeves has been playing as more of a Left Mid. for the U21's this year, so and the OS said he was a versatile midfielder so I suppose he was included as a midfield option maybe? Oh and Ward-Prowse is a central midfielder

It did seem quite limited options for the bench today. We seem to have quite a few knocks & major injuries at the moment. Hope Schneiderlin's injury isn't as serious as feared.

Ben Reeves is well thought of apparently along with a few others pushing for a chance.

Would love to think Martin can start on Tuesday with Jaidi on the bench as a safety valve in case of need. I do reckon Martin is a safe option and he does have a calming effect on our other defenders.

    Reeves is an attacking LM.
Ward-Prowse is a defensive Central Midfielder.

Forte is injured as are Connolly and Guly. Once they're back it'll be fine.

My understanding was that Connolly was fit or at least bench fit. Any body know the extent of Guly's injury?

What about Sam Hoskins? He seems to score every game for the under 18's. Might be worth a try

I'm all for giving youth a chance, however now is not the time to experiment with them, its too high pressure atm

This is just putting them on the bench as cover while we have injuries though. Whilst no-one else is available, we should have attackers, however young, able to come on.

Connolly for me has to go in the summer or his contract not renewed. How much has he played this year? How often is he injured? Like the guy and a good player but to injury prone and therefore a waste of a squad position in my opinion.

Was all down to the injuries we had , and anyway - our youngsters are fantastic and Ward-Prowse will be playing for England in 10 years time.

N'Guessan looks off the pace, don't really see where he fits in. He is just a poor man's Puncheon.

Ward-Prowse looks a bit like Schneiderlin from the way he plays apparently. Can anyone who's had more than a glance on Youtube back that up? Chelsea put their youth league highlights on Youtube and Saints have looked very impressive in both the home and away ties.
