Some of us saw Barcelona trash Levante yesterday and it seemed impressive. But actually, it was a sign of the problems the league is facing. The joke about it being like the scottich league on steroids is more and more spot on the mark.

Now spanish players are beginning to voice their disdain openly.

And they are right. The tv rules that has the two big clubs take the lions share and leave the rest with next to nothing comparatively have first: Ruined the economy of the lesser clubs as they have tried to compete. Secondly: Now have spanish player consider La Liga a boring league, which will lead to them leaving to other leagues.

Making La Liga even less competitive, making Real and Barca winning each game with even larger scores. But the very best players can't keep up their top level, by winning 4-5-6-7 to nil week after week.

Play each other some more then? They are already playing each other I don't know how many times a year, and for all their quality, it certainly isn't the derby you'd mostly want to watch. All the other derbies that actually mean something are much more interesting by now.

Thing is, all these negative effects, look to only grow if they don't understand that sports grows strongest in a fair competition.

More Bargins for us then <ok>

The money side of things will have to change wont it? it will also have an effect on attendances at the lesser clubs too, making the situation a lot worse. its bad enough in the premier league but at least there are 4 clubs in with a shout and due to money being shared out fairly each game is pretty competitive in terms of first XI 's on the field. Swansea has gone to Chelsea ,Liverpool and arsenal and won, they have also beat man city and Liverpool at home .

To compare its actually like levente going to Barca and beating them at camp nou ! basically unheard of over there.

I watched Real v Bettis and to be honest there wasn't much between them (discounting Ronaldo , who had a quiet game by his standards) ,and looking at the both sides at least they put out teams with possibly a much higher percentage of home grown talent than what we see in the PL .
