Good game tonight, man of the match with Smalling for me and the only player Spain really struggled with - set up England's goal.

I really want to see him given a go at Right Mid. If he didn't have the defensive duties of a Right back I think he could be devastating - like a Right footed Bale. Saying this if we stuck VDV out on the right his runs from defence could also be a valuable asset next season.

Wouldn't work too well with Lennon though IMO - I feel the two players would run into each other's space too often.

He could do a good job playing in the Europa and domestic cups, provided we either get in some new back-up for Lennon or give Bentley another chance.

Watching the game I thought he was really good tonight - looked threatening going forward and I felt he was England's best threat. He defended reasonably well too IMHO. I agree with the issues with him and Lennon together on the right, but I think it could work out with them playing together if they get game time. He's a great prospect and his performances this season, particularly at Villa, make me confident we can let Hutton go and look to Walker as the future.

    Liverpool fan in peace.

I saw a bit of Walker last year for QPR and Villa. I have to say if he looks like he could be quality in the coming years.

Is he likely to be picked as a first teamer for your lot come the season opener against Everton? if he is, he's a snip on the old fantasy footy.

Good luck for the season ahead.

I think that Corluka is still likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order at the start of the season, as he's still more assured defensively and he's got a good understanding with both Lennon and his fellow Croatians, too.
Walker should get plenty of chances to play over the course of the season, though.
He may find himself restricted to cup games if Corluka performs well.

Cant see Alan `The White Cafu` Hutton getting much of a game with the emergence of Walker, hopefully Walker and Charlie will be our RB`s (with Kaboul as backup) and Hutton will be sold.
