Now, if you'd asked me at the time, I'd have said he was a great addition to the team, and a real shame to lose him in January, but looking at the statistics, keeping him might have cost us the title :emoticon-0104-surpr

Points per game with KW 1.75, without 2.04
    Win % with KW 45%, without 58%
Clean sheets with KW 45%, without 62%

So, I've changed my mind . . . Villa can keep him :p

He was great going forward but lacking in the defensive aspects of the game but will develope into Englands right back for the next world cup

Interesting stats, he was good to watch though.

I suppose if we carry on rejecting every name that appears to be connected with us, it will be
    premier league; good riddance

I don't think there was ever any serious notion of us signing him. He has settled well at Villa (a much more established club) and failing that is probably worth holding onto by Spurs. My comment was more than a little tongue in cheek, based on what I thought were some pretty surprising stats - I rather like Walker and I'd have imagined they would be the other way round.

BTW - whereabouts in the Northwest are you ? I have family over in Sligo.

Has it got anything to do with the quality of the opposition in the games he played? It is great to have attacking full backs. When the defensive side of his game matures, he'll be wanted by the best.

I was making a general observation that we all seem to be incredibly picky about new signings and seem to find every excuse to point out that they're not Messi! Not related to this thread I accept.
I am based in Sligo, formerly Leitrim. You probably know it quite well having family here.Good hillwalking country.

My lot (we'll the wife's lot really) are all based around Grange / Cliffoney and up towards Ben Bulben. Fabulous country, hope to retire over there one day.

A young player still learning his trade - I'd still take him with those stats. With he way he bombed up an down the wing, he could easily move into midfield. I realise the comment was tongue in cheek but he did settle in very well. With Houllier leaving Vanilla, maybe he won't fancy going back there or they won't want him.............over to your NW

Interesting stats... just goes to prove the age-old adage; there are lies, d**n lies and statistics. I think Peter1954 had it about right: absolutely brilliant to watch when going forward, needed some coaching on his defensive responsibilities but will develop into one of England's best FB's of his day. I would LOVE to have him back but, unfortunately, I don't see much chance of it happening.

The stats dont mean a thing,
It was just that he joined when we had a period of tough fixtures and a bit of a dip in form
Without him we may not of picked up important victories at the time against the likes of Coventry

I think he'd be more suited to a 3-5-2 formation which would give him the freedom to bomb forward but still have defensive responsibilities. Sadly, we won't see that at Loftus Road!

Yeah, Norwich and Swansea, home and away, plus matches against Cardiff, Reading and Forest probably made life a bit tougher for young Kyle.

I'd still have him back too.

Given the choice of having him wearing hoops or claret&blue, I'd want to see him in the Hoops.
