He just tweeted hes been given a first team number. He was great as a youth tea player and to misused at rangers. I'm personally glad for him and it reflects well on our academy.

Bartley is a good player. I saw him a few times for Sheffield United. He's got the height, and the ability. He just needs a few edges rounding off and he'll prove a hit definitely. He was highly rated by the Shef Utd fans even though they went down. He was played out of position quite a bit at Rangers as a DM, but that makes him another good option to have as in an emergency, he has experience of that position. Very glad for the lad that he's making something of a breakthrough. He could overtake Djourou and I'd already have him ahead of Squillaci & Miguel as 5th choice. Good on the lad!!
I prefer Miguel, I do not think Brighton is good enough club for him to go on loan. Anyway, i wish him luck and hope that he will come back after a successful loan to eventually become our No 4 choice.
Very key moment in his career. This is the point where AW takes over for real and decides where he will play and gives him a chance. Looks like Miquel is going on loan to Brighton, so it may be as 5th CB or it may be as DM. Song was a CB just the same as Bartley at this stage. He really is a very "English" player and I think our fans will love him. I wish him good luck, he seems to be a very smart young man, who deserves his chance.
I think I once read an interesting stat that a Premiership side had never won the league without an English Centre half. Always have had high hopes for this lad though
Good luck to the lad. He always looked like he was going to make it at Arsenal when he was in the youth team. He knows Steve Bould really well from working with him in that team, so hopefully his transition to the first team will be a seamless one
