It has been reported that QPR are about to tempt Saint Etienne with a £7. 5million bid for their young Frecheville centre back Kurt Zouma! Anyone heard of him or know much about him?
Just checked him out on wikipedia and he looks like the next Chris samba. Only 18 but broke into the 1st team last year. Played for France at u16, u17 and is in u19's now. 6'2" as well. Haven't seen any footage of him but he sounds like the kind of player I want us to sign judging by that info.....
Even at £7.5mill! absolutely too much for a young untried overseas player in the prem then again who haven't we being associated with so doubt it will happen
Fee's irrelevant at the moment because the papers are just guessing and not many fee's these days are up front, I'm sure it'll be a smaller amount with the rest based on success and appearances etc.....
I too found this an exciting prospect provided he could slot into what is hopefully a reasonably functional team.
What we have to remember here is, MH doesn't just pop over on a plane and spend 5 mins watching him train, then decide to take a punt on him. As mike rigg put it, when he spots a player he likes, he has to know everything about him. What he's thinking, where he likes to shop, what he done last week etc... It's phenomenal the depth of detail involved. I wouldn't be surprised if he and his team knew about these players before joining QPR!!
Think I'm more worried about our centre mid at the moment, who is seriously going to play alongside diakite when the season kicks off? After all, that's where games are won and according to the football experts...
'Lightweight' is generous, we have problems there, for sure and they need resolved, pretty damn quick.
Agreed, as the season draws closer im becoming more nervous. Thought we would have at least 1 defender in by now
Thats a good point - i remember when MH came in he said since he left Fulham (Jul 11) to when he started with us (Jan 12) him and his team had travelled across the world scouting players for their next club, whoever it would be. I think with the Diakite signing that shows how detailed he is.
