    Possibly.

Hes only 34. Has experience, and knows what it's like to play for one of the smaller clubs around (Ipswich and Palace)

Similar type of game to Shearer too. If he impresses between now and the end of the season I can see him given the shirt permanently because firing Newcastle into the CL next season.

Please discuss at your leisure my fellow Geordie chums.

    "Only 34"

Ha. He's got a maximum of 2 years left before he retires. Assuming he plays every game between now and retirement (51, not including cup games) he will have to average just under 3 goals per game. No doubt he will step into Shearers shoes immediately...

I took pity on the old fellow as we sat side by side in Brussels airport waiting for our separate flights back to the UK. He was unsuccessfully nursing his fifth whiskey since I’d been near him and I began to regret the direction our conversation had taken. I felt pangs of guilt that his sobbing and inebriation had been mainly down to me.

Perhaps I’d become irked with his boastful chatter shortly after we’d first sat down next to each other and swapped pleasantries. It wasn’t as if we had anywhere else to go once we were airside and the bar stools had been comfortable. I tried to placate him, gee up his confidence within himself once more before my flight was called.

There will be others I offered but he shook his head in a disconsolate fashion. She was that last one he cried. The missing piece in his entire life’s ambition. He was incomplete with out her.

I saw my flight being called on the boards and I‘ll be honest; I wanted away. Sure, his life was amazing and I told him that. He had so much to look back on with pride. He sobbed loudly and pushed me away. I didn’t fight back this time but let myself be pushed out the picture.

As I walked away from him I heard him wail “The Intertoto Cup! It’s gone forever!”

I never met Sir Alex Ferguson again but the meeting will be forever ingrained in my mind as a haunting episode.

His style of play is much closer to Heskey's actually. Big strong bloke who holds it up for his partner.

I heard he's going to have black stripes and a number 9 tattooed on his torso and play shirtless.

back on toon boards again eh?
is this how you hide your disgust/despair at getting beat by the then Premier Leagues bottom team.
In our situation its actually a decent deal

Comparing Kuqi to Shearer, grow up. Come back when Rooney, Berbatov or Little Peanut score more Prem goals than he did. I'd say i'll be here waiting but there's no point because it'll never happen.

Will the goals for Real or Barca, perhaps Inter or AC count towards his Premiership total?

    Actually.

    You're right.

He'd have no idea how much a hooker should cost abroad so he'll stay in England.

10 good years? He's 25, alot of his goals come from his admirable dogged tenacity that his backed up by his pace and power, can't see him being able to adapt his style and having as much of an impact when he gets to 30 and loses a yard of pace, sorry.

a lot of his goals last season were poachers efforts.

There you go then, point proven, how's that poacher Michael Owen doing without that yard of pace? Scoring goals against Scunny and Southampton last I saw.
