Similar type of game to Shearer too. If he impresses between now and the end of the season I can see him given the shirt permanently because firing Newcastle into the CL next season.

Ha. He's got a maximum of 2 years left before he retires. Assuming he plays every game between now and retirement (51, not including cup games) he will have to average just under 3 goals per game. No doubt he will step into Shearers shoes immediately...

 

I took pity on the old fellow as we sat side by side in Brussels airport waiting for our separate flights back to the UK. Comparing Kuqi to Shearer, grow up. Come back when Rooney, Berbatov or Little Peanut score more Prem goals than he did. I'd say i'll be here waiting but there's no point because it'll never happen.

 

rooney had a **** season so far, but hes got another 10 years at the top of the game. hes already on 110. average 15 goals a season..easy.

10 good years? He's 25, alot of his goals come from his admirable dogged tenacity that his backed up by his pace and power, can't see him being able to adapt his style and having as much of an impact when he gets to 30 and loses a yard of pace, sorry.
