I used to think these were two different players. He get's referred to all the time as Sergi Aguaro, yet on the back of his shirt it's Kun Aguero. What's going on there, which one is it?

It's Sergio Aguero but his nickname is Kun as he looks like a character called 'Kun' from a Japanese tv show according to his brother.

Another rule that needs changing IMO. Nicknames should be for the training ground and dressing room only.

Agreed. What do you think about first names? Jonas Gutierrez has Jonas, for example. Can't imagine Shearer doing the same. Imagine his shirt - Alan 9.

Can see where the nickname could be abused a bit!

Should be strictly surnames on the back of shirts. That includes, in my opinion, Gutierrez!

The one that annoys me the most is 'Chicharito' - he's such a little dick!

Kun is taking things a bit far, same for Chicharito, but I generally have no problem with more 'legitimate' Hispanic/Portuguese selected names based on their actual names, especially as many of their given surnames are stupidly common (and they have more than one surname).

My two most hated players in the Prem now have got to be Hernandez and Wilshere!

Obviously that doesn't include Rooney, as nobody is more hated than him!

Fair. I mean some don't even go for nicknames, it's evolved now to animal noises now........

I disagree! Nani should have 'Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha' on the back of his shirt!

I'm not really bothered to be honest, we've had Brazilians calling themselves what they please for the last god knows how many years. I wouldn't swap names like Pele and Zico and they're only nicknames.

Where do ya draw the line with players like Nani or Kaka though? Just nicknames from when they were younger?

It's only a matter of time before some English player gets "Big Dave" on the back of his shirt...

Not that it makes a blind bit of difference to me like. The only one that annoys me is Chicharito. Just because he's a little dick.

Anyone know what happens when Shola and Sammy are both on the pitch?

Not sure what, but could go with F. Ameobi for Foluwashola, and S. Ameobi for Samuel. Must be weird for Sammy seeming being the only one of his siblings (that I know of) with a non-African name. There's also Oluwatomiwo (Tomi, happy birthday), Titi (idk full name) and another sister or two that I don't know names of.

Why should my opinion of what should be on a player's shirt be more important than the player himself?
