Rumours starting to build that LVG is planning a swoop for Krul in January.
I can see this story having legs and fully expect either Krul or Tiote to be next out of the door in January.
The prices Man Utd are paying these days we've got to be talking £15m+ surely?

If that is the case I hope we can recall Karl Darlow.

Whereas I wouldn't be pushing him out the door, I'd have to say he is replaceable. The only thing I would say is we don't have that many with home grown status. His form over the last 18 months has been nothing to write home about. Some of this could be down to poor coaching, but that excuse only goes so far. His kicking is poor and he goes too long too often a lot of the time without reason.

Agree with all of this. However, I would hold judgement on what is going to happen with any of our players until we see what happens with the managerial situation. The Status Quo is likely to see more than Krul pushing for an exit. The other side of that coin is wondering how much is in this story. At Man United LVG is not constrained by nationality of the players he picks. With Krul's form over the last year is he likely to be high up on a Champion's League team's shopping list?

I couldn't see it myself but perhaps his connections with LVG mean he feels there is potential there with the right guidance. I think Krul would be gone in a shot given the opportunity which is understandable. The only rider being, he has never been the type to bench warm, so unless he knew there would some sort of opportunity (there is no guarantee at those type of clubs) he may not fancy it

Like any young keeper Krul is inconsistent, some days he's unbeatable, another hes a weak point. For silly money I'd let him go because we could invest the money better, get in an experienced keeper without weakening the team immediately.

Is he any better than De Gea?

Looks to me like lazy journalism; Dutch keeper played for Dutch coach at recent tournament therefore he obviously must want to sign him!

It looks like absolute piffle, doesn't it? I mean, what the f*** would Van Gaal want Krul for? Is he going to keep him on the bench in case they go to penalties in the FA Cup?

De Gea is not a great keeper, by any stretch (usually has great distribution though), but neither is Krul. It's not a tremendous improvement. Krul's only actually better at claiming crosses, and that's only when he's in form, at the moment he's as useless as all the other flappers in the league.

No, if he was going to sign a Dutch keeper, it would surely be the Dutch keeper he kept playing during the WC ahead of Krul? Maybe...

As tragic as it would be to call Elliot our number one (which would happen, because if we can't replace a Cabaye or Ba after a billion transfer windows, what makes anyone think we'd get a keeper replacement?!?!), Krul's not good enough either.

    I agree.

Krul isn't a patch on De Gea and is 2-3 years older than him too. I don't really mind if Tim goes, like many of our players he's stagnated badly over the last 18 months and is just an average premier league keeper for me. Off the top of my head I'd say Hart, De Gea, Lloris, Begovic, Foster, Forster, Guzan, Mignolet, Courtouis, and Cech are all better than him. Anything over 10m would be a good deal IMO.

Journalism needs a new name, it's not actually journalism anymore. On top of the better keeper's already mentioned, why wouldn't Cillesen from always-selling club Ajax be number one, he was LVG's number one for the WC and would be half the price?

De Gea I think will be an really excellent keeper but just needs to develop a bit. Krul has just not really come on. He has always been a really good shot stopper but its the other parts of goal keeping that make you a really class act like the way you boss your box and distribute the ball. Neither he is particularly good at
