Finally... In tomorrow's news headlines: please log in to view this image Says Ozil is just the start. Good times ahead, or is he merely saying this because there is an imminent AGM?
Normally I'd say the latter but the fact that we got Ozil and bid for Suarez tells me that the club is ready to spend big.
I used to be a buyer of the Daily Mirror, and The Times, . Those were the papers I'd buy to read on the train when going to uni, :-D.
You don't strike me as a Graduate ... are you sure that's not just another one of your fanciful stories ?
He doesn't actually say very much at all in this interview, other than he loves football and sport in general. He's a successful businessman and he has complete faith in Wenger. And why not. His specialism is business, Wenger's is football. I'd rather an owner let the experts get on with the football than meddling in affairs they don't actually know that much about. The whole 'Silent Stan' label makes sense now. He doesn't actually have to say very much. Personally I'm not worried by that, he's got Arsenal's long term interests at heart and he's in it for the journey. He obviously wants us to be successful and he's not using Arsenal as a cash cow like some owners. I don't need to see him making statements every week about Arsenal, I think we'd soon get bored of it to be honest
You don't have to graduate to go to uni So what's Kroenke promising you now, 1,000 years of uninterrupted success? 70 virgins when you die? Nah, I'm sure he's going to deliever on his word this time
I've just been to confession and told my priest that I looked at the Torygraph. He told me to say 3,000 Hail Mary's and made me promise not to read that rag again
Arsene Wenger 'honoured' to have Stan Kroenke's Arsenal backing Shouldn't that be the other way round?
So, on topic... Kroenke doesn't have to say much. If he keeps quiet & Arsenal do well the fans will come to appreciate him. He is a stabilising influence & all about increasing the clubs marketability. He will eventually take money out of the club, but only that which he has helped generate. I have no problem with him. He's a good business man & a good guy to have at the helm.
Im a Tory and proud to support a club built on good old fashion tory principles of work for your money and earn your pay, not this labour principle of sugar daddys paying the way for those who cant/wont earn it for themselves. Man City and, erm, the chavs epitomise the chav culture. rely on handouts and city are even based in Manchester, how much more chavvy can you get!!!! And don't get me started on Red Ed, hes got it in for me. My wife is a childminder and hes just guaranteed she'll provide childcare for a minimum of 50 hours a week if they get in power and for lower pay as childminders cant afford to work for the paltry rate the government pay, she'll be on far below the minimum wage. They are just playing into the fat cat nursery owners hands. And I work in the Energy industry so Im ****ed. (I don't work for a supplier though so not a company raking in the profits) Right, now Ive got that off my chest, back to the article. This is the next stage in the AKB v WOB argument. If Wenger spends on decent world class players he will start to win more supporters back, but if he does the same as he has in the last few years and avoid paying "over the odds" for them the ball will swing back towards the WOB. Don't forget if we fail to win a trophy this year by the end of next season when we can win one it will be 10 years since the last one. The last time that happened was 1979 to 1989.
