    Deal with Team Korea sealed.
Sunderland have agreed a groundbreaking sponsorship deal to join forces with Team Korea in the America’s Cup, sailing’s number one event.
The 18-month deal will see the club’s crest emblazoned on the Team Korea boat during the America’s Cup World Series, which begins in San Francisco on Tuesday.
The partnership underlines the club’s ambitions for greater international exposure following the major shirt sponsorship deal with Invest In Africa.
The club also travelled to South Korea during pre-season to take part in the Peace Cup tournament.
Sunderland’s International and National Marketing Director, Mike Farnan, said: “The America’s Cup is a true sporting phenomenon and, like the Barclays Premier League, it enjoys an enormous following from audiences and high-profile brands across the world.
“This partnership with Team Korea is another huge step forward for the club as well continue to extend our awareness across continents.”
Dong Young Kim, CEO of Team Korea, added: “Football has a very large following in Korea and there is a very strong connection with Sunderland.
“We can expect to see many opportunities to work together to link an expanded fan base for both teams in Europe, Asia and the Americas.”

Was mentioned the other day and a great global marketing link up imo. Puts us into places we've never been before or thought about going. Its a very rich world yatching and especially the Americas Cup.

We might just attract a few billionaire fans with this one.
