So Kolarov has accused them and they have accused him? I'm fed up now, this kind of stuff is thoroughly depressing.

Just because its happened a lot in recent months doesn't make it any less of a serious issue.

    It's not that I don't care.

It's because it's all the media are focussing on at the moment.

My thoughts are the same as DTLW and HR...

This is going way to far now.

Anyone found guilty of racism should be banned for life an given sentences.

    It is completely f****** unacceptable!

So do you think the media should just stay silent on racists within our game?.

My first thought when I saw this was that the Albanian flag could have been brought into the ground to provoke Kolarov.

    Not saying that.

It's a difficult and delicate topic to talk about.

I want everything to be sorted and those responsible an guilty should be sent down! No questions!

RLGB, I don't think you grasp mine and HR's point. We do not think "yawn".

We think it is depressing and is annoying to keep hearing of such morons.

I am sure I speak for us both when I say we both want any racist idiots dealt with.

If the fans were Albanian then they had every right to fly there flag with pride. But If they were not Albanian they I don't know what sort of characters carry a spare Albanian flag with them :bandit: Also Kolarov is hardly the greatest player I dont know who would want to spite him, but there are these sort of idiots around

    Oh absolutely.

    I think a slap-on-the-wrist fine is disgraceful.

These morons should do time. Even if its for a short period.

John Terry was racist! Yet he got a slap on the wrist with a £2k fine, and yes he may have got a four game ban too, but he still picked up half a million pounds in that time...!

Genetically there is no such thing as a "race", so quite how Albanian has become a "race" I don't know.

The lines are quite blurred when separating ethnic and racial discrimination so whilst the article in question may refer to the abuse as racist, I don't think it is implying that the abuse was aimed at Kolorov's genetic structure.

Most agree that racism is wrong (no point in putting 'all' because if it was 'all' there would be no racism). However, I think there is a danger that it will become a weapon to use against others. It certainly is not a crime that warrants an automatic prison sentence...it is not on par with knifing someone. Prison should be reserved for the worst cases...involving violence, repeated incidents or inciting others to violence. The latter may cover incidents at some football games where a few people can whip up a crowd. It is also a crime where evidence can be unavailable...a case of your word against mine.

The Albanians may have been there innocently and proudly showing their flag or they may not. Kolarov should, of course, have walked away.

I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would bring in an Albanian flag to intimidate a player on the football field. For a start the player himself could not have taken part in the hostilities. So why would it necessarily have riled him? Why would he call it racist for anyone to fly an Albanian flag, they can fly what ever flag they like surely? (Next we will be seeing the Swastica you wait and see)
If that was they case no country would play each other as somewhere along the line each have fought most countries. Some countries have fought a few times.
Sorry am very puzzled by this whole episode there just has to be more to it or are the media once again making a giant mountain out of a tiny molehill??

It could have been innocent. If you came to support an oveseas team (in this case Newcastle) wouldn't you want other fans to know you are there. There may have been more than just the flag of course...we don't know at this stage.
