Good chap that Lardi is, he's not suitable to be moderate a Charlton forum, not least because by his own admission he doesn't know any of the current players, or personally attend games. Charlton 606 was at it's best when it was topical and the mud was flying, remember great posters like Tewksbury Addick, a2c and Bitter & Malicious? We need them back, as well as Typical, Squareball and dick plumb. With all due respect to Lardiman, nobody is interested in reading about the Liberal Democrats on one of the few surviving football threads. Royston offers to return to 606 and restore it to it's former tendentious glories, on the condition Lardi agrees to step down".
In Lardy we trust. Things will pick up when the football starts, but nothing much is happening ATM. I'm waiting to see what happens.
Take the Sheriff back as moderator and this is what you'll get; 1) Fireworks for a few weeks. 2) A fade-out as the novelty wears off. 3) The Sheriff will lose interest and leave. If it is genuine, his assessment of me has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese. And the inference that he can bring back all those great old members should he take charge again is pure fantasy. As mentioned, he'll get bored and quit inside three months. Not606 Charlton will just become another incarnation of one of Dick's flash-in-the-pan forums. I haven't done anything to this forum, let alone 'killed' it. It is not the moderator's job to generate interest or controversy - to 'drive' the forum, stir it up, or twist it in his own image. It's the members who create the buzz and the community. Not the caretaker. He's thinking of the way Reams runs ITTV. But Reams isn't a moderator on that forum, he is it's Guru, Creator and Dictator. And very successful he has been too, if you like that kind of thing. Just start posting again Sheriff, and stop using Elfs as your messenger

First up, I'm happy to ignore anything said by somebody who won't post his opinion of me in person. Royston is still a member here. So why is he using Elfs to pass on his views. True, I did not go to Wembley this May just gone. But I was there in 2019, and so was somebody else because I managed to get him a ticket. You'd think that might be appreciated, but apparently not. True also, I don't know much about the current team or football tactics. Quite how that discourages other more knowledgeable members from posting their views and wisdom here I can't quite see. Charlton fans come in every kind of mindset, different areas of interest and knowledge etc. It isn't a crime to be diverse - despite what you may have heard recently. If the Sheriff wants to moderate Not606 Charlton he can take the matter up with @brb An if he wants a stand-up argument rather than sniping cheap shots, he can come on here and post to me directly.
Kojak update:- “606 used to be a forum that was Charlton, and even football related. Someone pointed out to me recently that they had looked in on 606 (briefly), and 13 of the top 15 threads had nothing to do with Charlton, or football. Lardi had been warned many times that he’s killing the forum, but he’s too obtuse and self indulgent to listen. Lardi is the forum Moderator equivalent of Edward Smith, captain of the Titanic. I note that the poster who never wants to post about politics but always somehow manages to do so blames the lack of traffic on the close season, but now is precisely the time we should all be talking about the signings, the targets & the contracts. In the past few days we have spent over £3m on new players plus Leaburn has signed a new contract - the Mod’s main contribution in that time is to post about the Lib Dem’s policy on twiddlywinks. I don’t want to get too personal towards Lardi, but he needs to go, and if others feel the same, they should join him. Lardi is too introspective & lacking in self awareness to Mod a forum. 606 isn’t and never has been the vanity play thing of one poster. In this case Mr Lardiman. It’s for Charlton fans who go to Charlton games to discuss Charlton issues. Not a vehicle for Lardi to keep the Great British Public updated on how often he’s got the trots. Let’s make 606 Great Again. If I do re-join as Mod, Lardi can continue to post, but he will NOT be permitted to post irrelevant rubbish on football / Charlton -related threads. I will start a new Lardi thread, signposting any posters who want to read his updates on how he’s chained to his toilet. I will also immediately close 90% of the non football related threads. The 4-5 posters I am in touch with, who are all wanting to post on 606, are sick of logging onto a football forum that had nothing to do with football”

This is getting tedious now. Four or five posters who are all wanting to post on Not606? Utter garbage. What is stopping them? They don't like some non-football threads here? Then why don't they just come here and start some football threads? Nobody needs permission to start a thread about anything they like - except politics. That has a single thread now. This entire thread is a personal attack on me. A cowardly attack at that, and I'm starting to suspect the real reason for it - and the real person behind it. Anybody who has something to say to me - post it yourself in this thread. I'm not going to respond to any more second-hand insults.
