Just said this on another thread but with all the hysteria earlier in the summer I dont think most of us realised what gems we had picked up as our new manager and his brother. Ron has already shown superb man management skills with the way he handled the Morgan situation. He's strengthened our squad attracting top players like Tadic and instead of weakening in games we our now finishing stronger. MP seemed to have only one way to play but Ron has already shown with his substitutions and tactics that he's a cut above. He handles the press well and clearly is popular with the players. I think we are in for some exciting times over the next few seasons. COYR!
I admit to a couple of personal wobbles and at least one jellyfish moment this summer. Throughout it all, Ron stood tall.
Just have to mention that RK didn't just arrive on spec...he was sought out, hired and then supported. Well done, Les and his team.
Im very happy with Koeman Bros and our squad for the season ahead ... BUT ... we all know how football, and especially it would seem Saints, can suddenly bite you on the backside ! So im my keeping feet firmly planted on the streets of Southampton.
After last night this had to be bumped. Even an eternal optimist like me could not have foreseeen the brilliant start Ron has made. Squad is deeper stronger and fitter Tactics are better Football a joy to watch Long may his reign continue #kingkoeman

I get the impression that if you were to bump into Ronald in a bar in some far-off place, and introduced yourself as a Saints fan, he would genuinely be more interested in meeting you than you would be meeting him. What a bloke!
Must admit I metaphorically yawned at the prospect of Ron and Erwin taking over the reins. I was in post-Pochypoo shock. I didn't see where we would get a coach who was even better [and he is, clearly better], at what seemed like short notice, or at all. As for attracting star players, even the FM specialists on here didn't really raise an eyelid when Tadic was signed, or Pelle. If they were stars, then it was entirely confined to fanatics and the Eredivisie crowd, because I'd never heard of them, and I don't suppose I was alone. Nor Gardos or Mane. Alderweireld I had heard of, from the World Cup, but that was it. Oh, and Shane Long, of course. Within half a game I knew Tadic was a bit special. Pelle took about one and half games to show himself. And the rest just seemed to have been playing for Saints for ages, so well did they knit into the team. Gardos and Mane were superb last night, on their full debuts, for pete's sake. The tactics are superior because; 1] they vary and every player obviously understands them. 2] there is not only a Plan A, but quite obviously a B, C and so on. And they change them almost imperceptibly. The team of last season wasn't capable of last night's performance, and that is down to Ronald and his staff, Les Reed and his staff, for seeking them out, and ultimately the Chairman and Owner. Everyone at St Mary's has played a blinder in the last few months. After the last 5 years I thought I had faith in the club. I should have had more, but who saw this coming..?
As my user name prophetically says....Saints Alive With Total Football!!!.... Any player in the team could score at any time.
Very impressed with the Koeman era some far, I enjoyed the style of play last season but the ticka tacka pressing style of play could often be very frustrating with little end result? Compare that to the season and we look a muck more potent force particularly away from home where our counter attacking has been pretty impressive. Great time to be a Saint.
My opinion of him could only raise more if after beating Spurs, he runs over to MoPo and wipes his own arse with a Spurs shirt
