Didn't see this coming.. he must have really impressed in training. Honorary Dane for the evening... come on Jonas!
I disagree, I thought Knudsen had a solid game. He played a huge part in their goal, his long throws generally posed problems (unlike in the 100+ games he played for us), and he looked confident against tough opposition. You would not have thought he played Championship football if you were a casual fan watching that match.
He put in a lovely cross toward the end that they should have scored from and 9 times out of 10 he blocked or made the tackle.. he definitely did not get roasted although he did have a couple of dodgy moments - probably at fault for the goal although Neville was blaming the centre back for not coming across to cover. Gary Neville was full of praise for Knudsen. This shows what can happen when players have proper coaching, a top manager and elite pros around them. I got the sense that if Knudsen was playing at this level week in, week out then he would make a useful wing back, not be put on his arse by the winger and be picking out the right pass from the byline. I am in no doubt that after this experience he will have grown 10x as a player for Town and hit the ground running at the start of the season.
Think you got it nearly spot on Stretchy! Not exactly a blinder, but he certainly didn't do his reputation any harm.
First half I thought his positioning was terrible, was exposed a lot, crossing was not great, and his throws, although causing problems, were too far away from the keeper . 2ns half, he grew, Croatia stopped targeting him as he pushed up further. I don't think he was that great, BUT, let's put it into context . He's a championship player, has not played for a few weeks, and he's up against experiences internationals, with some world class players in modric. It can only do him and the club the world of good, fantastic experience for the lad
