We've got a thread on our board asking about next season and who we'd like to sign. I've said knockaert as everytime i've seen him play he looks decent. One thing that catches my eye is he always seems to be positive in what hes doing, ie taking people on or moving the ball forward knstead of back. Do you think he will leave you this summer and do you think he would make it in the premiership? Also how much do you think it would take to get him? Sorry about all the questions!
Hello! Please don't take our Knockaert from us Very talented player on his day, obviously has his off days, but he is only young and for his first season in English football, has adapted brilliantly. The thing that impresses me most is his work rate, his desire to win the ball for a winger is admirable and he does like to get stuck in with a good slide tackle. Very passionate too (see the reaction to his penalty miss and his tweets!), we do love him here. Saying all that, I'm not sure if he has enough pace for the top division. That is the one thing he lacks. If he had the pace of, say, Zaha, I feel he may be in the premiership already!
Cocky, typical Frenchman. Definitely going to be a Newcastle player next Season then! He's a very good player from what I've seen of him, and would definitely be better than Gutierez.
As Candy has said. He's a typical cocky Frenchman. However, he has all the ability to go with it. Honestly could really become a fantastic player if played behind the striker in the future but he needs to be brought down a few pegs first. I don't know whether we should shackle him further and make him more of a team player, or let him loose like Taarabt was when QPR went up a couple of seasons ago. One thing is for sure, we'll be doing everything we can to keep hold of the lad.
Yeah thats what makes me think we might be looking at him with us having a load of French players... But obviously with us we won't pay top dollar, realistically how much do you think he'd go for now?
I couldn't tell you how much to be honest with the market for young wingers at this level as crazy as they are. Zaha 17m? I can tell you he's probably as good as if not better than him at the moment (although Zaha does seem to have more potential). *Not suggesting Knockaert is worth anything like £17m*
still has a lot to learn.. would be a liability in the premier at this time.. the second season is always the toughest..lets see..
I think we paid 2-3 million for him didnt we? With that in mind we would want at least 4-5 for him now. Hopefully at the end of next season 6-7 million!
Seem to rememeber that when we signed him, Newcastle had already been scouting him, but made no offer. Think he would do alright in the Premiership given a bit more space than in the hurly burly Championship. Lacks pace but can turn people inside out in two yards. Maybe just a little bit raw to make a major impact at the moment.
What he said - makes some poor decisions and gets the ball taken off him too often at the moment - also needs to be coached to use his right foot a lot more otherwise top defenders will have his measure ...
The lad has all the ability to make a top player. Probably just lacks a yard of pace but he has everything else When hes on top form he has ripped countless sides in half this season
Since Knockaert quite possibly cost Leicester £120 million whatever they get for him now will probably pale into insignificance by comparison. He's similar to Taraabt in that he's very overrated, a bit of a nob and is always diving.
You are a "Man Utd/Dortmund/Walsall" fan and your first post is mocking a player on a forum of a team that have absolutely nothing to do with any of the teams you supposedly support. How do you do that - I just disliked his post - mainly because I just realised I never have disliked one in all of the time I've been on these boards. It wasn't worth it tbh as I've just validated the arsehole.
