nah we'll just smash your door down and raid your house.

This of course is about the Police arresting the trouble makers from the Bristol Derby. Whilst I agree action needed to be taken against them, the police really shouldn't of gone about it the way they did, I would expect most of these people were family men and probably had kids. It was a ****ing stupid move by the police and they've made themselves look bigger twats than the ones they were arresting.

Well done to the law, once again you've put your name in shining lights <doh>

over the top actions by the constabulary. They 'enjoy' some action and often look/(provoke?) for trouble so they can use their bully boy tactics, nasty bunch.

Yeah was thinking exactly the same watching the news this morning.

knock police, 1 second and the doors down. No chance to answer the door. reckon they should do the same to coppers wanted for questioning for selling info to the press etc.

    Numbers so far..

Of the targets, 24 were believed to be Rovers fans, 14 supported City and seven had breached football banning orders restricting their access to matches across the country.

both sides bad as each other but i am surprised there is more rovers fans than city fans. considering the trouble outside minors arms and a fair few hundred who got on the pitch and approached the rovers fans, im very surprised by these figures to be honest.

i understand shinys point about the way the arrests done this morning was wrong as they all could have had families ect. however these trouble makers should have thought about this before commiting the offence <ok>

Be very surprised if Rovers had more arrests than city on the night considering the fan ratio was something like 7:1

We need to remember these guys broke the law in the first place.

They dragged the name of football in Bristol through the gutter that night - life bans for anyone convicted please - let's make our stadiums safe for kids

    Why life bans?

Why should punishments be harsher compared to those committed in wider society, even when the charge is for lesser offence!

Life bans do not apply to other aspects of society e.g Care homes - vulnerable adults and children.

Bristol City make noises about equal opportunities - The rehabilitation of offenders is part of this. Should the Bristol City community trust cease working for instance with community payback? Should Bristol City CRB check all employees?

They dragged the name of football in Bristol through the gutter that night ... Most people will already have forgotten it till today. Football fans will understand derbies get heated. It was a mild affair [v70/80's]overall.

Nobody was charged with a sex offence.

A public order offence, and that is what people will be charged with would not necessarily prevent somebody being employed in a caring profession.
