We've had a new strip for this season, but presumably few thought we would go up so soon (other than Nicola and Nigel I suppose). Do you think it will be just a badge change or do you think it will a completely new kit? I bet aap3 will have to pay a bit more for next season...can't believe that Nicola didn't put that in their contract.

I speculate that the plan is to keep the kit for next season. Thats why none of either the home or away kits in either of the stores had been reduced by the last match of the season.

Wasn't the current kit only planned for a year anyway? I'm sure that's what I read but I may well be wrong

I'm sure they will change it. I know the umbro contract runs out after next season so they will probably make another to get as much cash as possible.

I was told that under the new agreement there will be a new kit every year for 3 years.

I believe someone that attended the dinner thing with Cortese said we're getting new home and away kits next season.

I hope that there will not be a new kit. That would be three in consecutive years and although I get that last years was always going to be a on-off special, another change would just make me feel that they were getting greedy. This is a time of great optimism for the club, but also a time of great economic uncertainty, and I think parents in particular could do without the added expense. I have very happy memories wearing my shirt at St Marys this season. Why would would I want to change it so quickly?

Maybe true channon but most Premiership sides do have new design shirts each year don't they...or is that my imagination.

I thought that most of the Prem clubs had an arrangement where they changed the shirts every two years because of complaints of profiteering. We didn't change shirts every year last time, did we?

There's no need to change it. There is always a good range of shirts from the last few years being worn in the stands, so if you don't want to fork our for another one each year, don't. I get a new one every 2-3 years, regardless of whether there are new strips in the mean time.

Hmm, hope they don't change the kit too much. The shirt was an excellent design, in my opinion. The shorts were... well blueish black, as usual, and the socks were far better than recent seasons - I hate hooped socks with a passion. But if they are going to change them, make them all one colour - all white, with a small Saints design on the front, where the shin pad would be, would be ideal, for me. Basically, this kit, with small changes, and the 2001-03 socks.

I think they will have to change the home shirt due to premier league rules on having stripes in the backs of shirts.... Can't remember off the top of my head about Newcastle, west brom, etc.... On the other hand, I have been known to be wrong....

If it was unchanged apart from badges, a lot of people would buy it just to have the PL strip. Not white socks....murder to get grass stains out:laugh:

Finally I can boast a source, can't say who just incase I'm not meant to know. But I have it on pretty good authority there WILL be a new kit and that the person who had previously designed the last few wasn't designing it anymore as they have been promoted to pretty high up within the club, and there was also a hint that nicola will be having a BIG say in the design of the it I.E submitting ideas himself... :) (I feel like rocket swanie but not fake!)

There will 100% be a new kit next season. It's in the contract with Umbro that we do.
