..now I must admit I am incredibly biased, being a 90's child I grew up having to look further than Boothferry Park for genuine Footballing talent - and Matt Le Tissier and Robbie Fowler in particular where somewhat heroes of mine.. Anyway, I digress.. Fowler has recently tweeted that he's after a club, was meant to be doing a Football style IPL kind of thing in India, which seems to have fallen through.. which got me thinking how much I'd love him here. I appreciate he would find it near impossible to get ahead of Fryatt, Mclean and King in the pecking order but some sort of a player/coaching role could be a great idea.. if one of the greatest finishers in Premier League history can't teach them a thing or two then 'God' (see what I did there?) knows who can. I genuinely wouldn't mind seeing him on the pitch either.. probably not suited to the 'one up on their own' style we play, but with the amount of chances we create you'd think he'd put a few away (if fit). Obviously this is all hypothetical, and purely down to Barmby, but having played together with England (and possibly Liverpool?) I'm pretty sure they'l know each other. Lot of if's in this suggestion I appreciate, but the 12 year old in me would bloody love it!
