So we have just experienced the first day of testing, and to be honest, we haven't learnt much at all. Only that the tyres are not very durable relative to the 2010 Bridgestone's - but then we knew that from the Pirelli tyre test last year. Hopefully, as testing continues, we will get a better indication of how fast the cars are. Di Resta went 4th fastest, with Alonso just behind in 5th. Alonso dominated early on with some impressive lap times in difficult track conditions. The F150 is clearly a fast car and Alonso was aware of this, and so F1's most complete driver was reported to have slowed significantly on the straights, every single lap. Now why would he do this? The answer is quite simple: Paul Di Resta is taking part in his first pre-season test, and lack of experience means that he can't be very confident in his ability. So Alonso, being such a kind man, let Di Resta set a quicker lap time then him (proved by Alonso slowing on the straights), in order to help Di Resta become more confident in his ability and therefore improve as a driver. Only a great leader would make such a sacrifice. Forza Fernando!
Well if Alonso is to help Di Resta's confidence, he must set a slower lap time then Di Resta. Since Di Resta could only manage 4th, Alonso settled for 5th.

Why would he do this? Alonso is known for freezing whenever rookies are involved. Ever since 2007 he seems to fall apart whenever a new quick rookie is around. It appears that he has a phobia of getting humiliated by a rookie in front of an audience. Especially if the audience contains members of the Spanish royalty.
Im an alonso fan but im not going to cry about todays test times because they mean sod all. get over it jose
Bando, do you really think Jose is an Alonso fan? He uses Alonso to annoy other people which makes people artificially turn on Alonso just to annoy Jose. I think he supports Hamilton to be honest.
Except Super Seb is absolutely beasting it. Picked up where he left off last season, and Red Bull aren't ones to embark on glory runs, on the contrary they're commonly accused of sandbagging. An ominous sign for the rest of the field.
Alonso fans tend to stick out, they are the ones who black up their faces, throw bottles on track and write ten articles a day trying to convince us that alonso DID not get whooped by a rookie in 2007
The lap times don't mean anything really - I explained that in the first paragraph. The article is about Alonso's kind personality. If anyone is annoyed at reading this article, please tell me why. After all, I have not insulted any driver.
Because you are an Alonso fanboy talking ****. There is **** all truth in what you've written. Even the genuine Alonso fans wish you'd STFU. All you had to do was grow up for a couple of months. Can't do it can you.
My rather excellent piece of writing was merely a review of Alonso's first day of testing. If you look at the facts (the lap times), you will see they back up what I have written. If you don't like what I have to say, you are under no obligation to read it.
You've made up a story that the Ferrari was beaten by a 2010 FI and 2010 McLaren by saying it was because Alonso was being altruistic. You're a twunt Lorca.
Looks like Jose has gone back to his old ways....shame, I was starting to like him as well (sarcasm) Jose, this is testing, i'm sure Ferrari did this as a test, not to let di Resta have a quicker lap time. What the teams are doing now is purely for themselves and their drivers, gaining valuable data, it's not a tea party or a little get together after the 10 week break. This is business as usual, they are COMPETING against each other. Jesus, the things people do for some attention
Oh look, resorting to insults because you can't argue with the facts. Di Resta was only fast enough to achieve 4th. Being magnanimous, Alonso had to set a slower time - so he finished 5th. Very simple logic!
Alonso finished 5th because he was SLOWER than the 4 cars in front. Now I wonder why oh why he might not have had the downforce levels of the FI and McLaren? Oh and not insults. Let's try in a language you understand: You are a twunt - FACT.
That is the worst assumption and excuse to make because he was slower. And it's not a fact, it's an opinion that you think he's kind
Ashbees,Lorca is a WUM..........a very poor one at that.He writes the same ol dross time and time and time again. He infested 606 with his ****e,spouted the same Alonso bolloxs, used multiple ID's etc etc. Sooner he gets banned from here, the better. Hope MalteseMick takes note.
