http://aggbot.com/Cardiff-City-News/article/17317366 Looks like he has chosen to sign for us! Not too keen on the loyalty part of it all but if he can help us progress then it isn't too much of a problem
Well if anything it shows ambition and a belief in his own ability. If he applies himself properly and doesn't let his ego get in the way, well who knows he may be a gem.
Interesting quote: "The next step is to play well for the team but Cardiff will not be my first and only club in Europe." Seems to have a high opinion of himself. Either that or something is lost in translation.
Our last two signings, Jordon Mutch and Etiene Blahblah, have come completely out of the blue and taken everyone by surprise - including natioanl media, the Eggo and WalesonLine. The fact that this is so much in the puiblic domain leads me to believe that like so many other much trumpeted (in advance) signings of the past - it won't happen! He's more likely to end up at Celtic.
Celtic won't be a good move for him, without Rangers that league is going to be dire, players get lazy you only have to look at JL. I would think that was the wrong translation, I'd love to see him at Cardiff.
If he wants to turn up, set the world alight, help us alot in the process then move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe thats fine by me. If he's that great we'll double or treble our money and have a great player in the process. If he's potentially good enough to play for Europes best in 2 years we'll do very well out of this in the immediate and when/if he moves. It maybe lost in translation, or he may just be honest. I know you're supposed to declare undying love for your new team and promise to never ever leave but surely we're all a bit more astute than that as fans.
Don't like the wording, but I will accept that it's possibly a translation error. If the guy can improve the squad, and be a terrific player before moving on, potentially leaving us a tidy profit, then so be it. No footballer seems to show loyalty (apart from whits), so if it's honest, at least we know where we are with him
The guy isn't even in the UK until tomorrow. And it seems strange that a player seemingly in demand has agreed to sign without meeting the manager or inspecting the facilities and general area. I'm unconvinced that it's a done deal. More likely his agent has leaked information to see if a better option comes along.
Whoops, not sure he is in demand. I still feel the price is inflated and if he's that good why haven't others come in for him? All the same my thread (#2) above still stands.
only a thicko of the highest proportions wouldnt get that he's using us as a stepping stone to bigger and better things whatever he may say to the media......he's probably never heard of cardiff.......
Got to agree with you there Swamp, But that said ....Everyone on our books .....Hull's books , Celtic's books etc etc are also doing the same thing ! .... which is, aiming for the pinnacle of their career or capabilities and reaching the heights of where their talents can get them and that includes Malky. As long as any signing we make gives all their utmost to our club then fine, don't kiss the badge tho.....thats for the fans only !!!
No, no. I pride myself on my high proportions of thickoness. All due respect bob, you're just a beginner.
Hope so Sheep. I'll believe it when City announce it. Malky is making some brave signings. Not like him to take risks.
This guy might be a risk, but will be one for Tan and his Asian marketing, I think Mutch and Etien are 'known quantities' as far as MM is concerned. MM said he tried to sign Etien once before and has been tracking him for some time. A hold up striker and two wingers and we'll be there or there about.
All I'm seeing everywhere tonight is that Kimbo is a done deal. Official announcement tomorrow...apparently. right, all we need now is for Malky to sign a guy called Sean Melvin from Vancouver Whitecaps. Having Mel & Kim in the team would keep me amused for months
