Managed down to the Theatre of Pies for the first time this season and was mega impressed. I was a wee bit late so I missed the first goal, but still managed to see us score more than in a good month during the later part of the JJ-years.

I don't want to get carried away with the result, as Hibs were shocking, but I'm delighted that it looks like we'll still be trying to play football. Dayton showed some flashes of brilliance, Silva looked dangerous and Heffernan made lots of intelligent runs. I was also impressed by Buijs and Liam Kelly put in a good shift. At the back we looked okay, and apart from a clever goal by O'Connor I thought we looked reasonably solid. I always thought Dean Shiels looked the real deal in his time at Easter Road, and he looked sharp after coming on late on.
All in all, absolutely delighted with the result and performance :smiley-finger007:

As for Hibs, O'Connors antics were poor and only eclipsed by Wotherspoon's behaviour in the second half and if they'd shipped another couple the scoreline would still have flattered them :emoticon-0149-no:

I was trying to remember who Heffernan reminded me of that used to play for Killie....looks slightly unfit, ungainly, awkward and no pace, then it struck me McMoist

I might regret not tipping Killie to be in the top six but nonetheless if we continue playing in a similar vein I will be a happy supporter again this season.Hats off to K Sheils I had my doubts that he could maintain the now famous " Killie style " of play without last years personnel.Even that boorish numpty Scott Booth who is to punditry what Vladimir Romanov is to sanity admitted we played/play the best football in Scotland.Just goes to show I am no judge of a person.:emoticon-0102-bigsm
Also noted that Mixu is still wearing the gingham blue check shirt that got many an outing on TV last year, come on Mixu you should be able to afford a new one on Finnish wages surely?

He can when he stays fit.Had a Durrant type injury last year so we Killie fans cringe when he's tackled hard:mad::mad:

Dayton does look good, and as they commented on Sportscene if Nakamura had scored that free-kick the press would be raving.
Still, it was nice to see us play attractive football without Eremenko (as according to some he was the only player we had last season!)

Also, I'd like to make the point here that if we continue to attempt to play everything out from the back, we will give away a few cheap goals this season. I don't add this as a criticism, merely a warning to fellow Killie fans who, like me, enjoy us trying to play a total passing game; not to be too critical if it occaisionally costs us.

I thought Sunday's game was a fantastic day out. Been to every competative game so far this season and the only negative is the form of Harkins. K.S seems to like him as he starts every game, but we always improve when he goes off. Looks like a luxury player without the luxuries, but with 1st division pace. Let's hope he can come up to standard soon. I'm sure with De Silva injured, he'll start again on Sunday. Heffernan had looked awful until this game, but his pace and strength were immense. Long may this form continue.

FP, Hopefully Harkins is just needing some time to adjust to the pace of the SPL; also I believe he was injured dururing pre-season, so he might need another week or two to get to full fitness. Heffernan has scored goals everywhere he played, let's hope we're not the exception to the rule.

    Think Heffernan runs like Dargo.

I have seen all 3 competitive games so far and have been quite impressed. We are continuing to play football on the ground and not resorting to lumping the ball up the park a la Captain Calamity days.

I hope the Killie fans will give Harkins time because there is definitely a player in there somewhere - he is lacking a bit of pace at the moment, however some of his passing has been excellent. Some of these clowns should think back to the Motherwell game when they had already written Heffernan off after seing him for 20 minutes.

Disappointed Silva is out, so I expect we will start with Shiels on Sunday - not a bad swap.

Hopefully Hearts are knackered on Sunday - we may need to wait an hour or so to get the benefit of their efforts last night, so patience is the word on Sunday.
