You may wish to ask your American cousins? Why was it so important for them to be Irish and proud here? Why do you think there are such societies?

    I've got agree with Sheldon.

I'm sorry every Jihadists is Muslim... Because they went on the crusades and killed 100s of Christians in the Holy Land. Oh wait that was us. They were the ones who forced christian slaves to Islam, no wait that was us turning muslims to Christianity and Muslims have sat by while Israel treat Palestinians as rats that deserve to by slaughtered. Oh no that was the West and Christians again.

I'm not condoning extremism and the killing of innocent people but we're no better than they are half the time.

Yeah and I realize that and I know I have given old examples there but it carries on. Like Palestine, like going in to Iraq (for no reason) like Afghanistan and drone attacks in Pakistan. Do you really think we can do what we like in the Middle East and they're not going to fight back.

I am going to tell you to try to look at the big picture.

Two groups of people lived in relative peace for many years in that part of the world.

In the mid 20th century when colonial rule, mostly practised by you-know-who, was coming to an end throughout Asia, Africa and South America, for the most part, a plan for the creation of two states in that part of the world was approved by a majority of the countries of the world.

One group accepted it and the other did not believeing they could drive the other one into the ocean and eliminate them.

Not much has changed since then.

That is the big picture. We can discuss micro issues and events, which I expect some may wish to do.

Now, to really answer your question, objectively, I think the record will show that "Israel's treatment of Palestine" is not-even-comparably better than "Palestine's treatment of Israel" and maybe even more importantly "Palestine's treatment of Palestine."

Give you Iraq in hindsite, and Afghanistan not our war but the Americans had every justification to go after bin laden as they do with pakistan who allow terrorists to use the country as a base to attack western troops. The biggest problem with a lack of support for the Palestinians is that most of the Muslim people there don't just want peace they want the same as Hitler the destruction of a race of people.

yeah the big pictures of a group of Eastern Europeans that have their Heritage in Western Russia was given some land by the UN (Most Muslims are happy with the 1948 borders) then those Eastern Europeans decided to take land that didn't belong to them because I piece of fiction created by a bunch of Italians told they could.

When the rightful owners fought back they were slammed in to Ghettos and regularly bombed. Then the immigrants started to vote in Right Wing Raciest Parties like Likud that has more raciest members than the EDL and has a leaders that spew out vile **** on a regular basis along with their children.

What Palestine wants is not to go through what they have to go through that's not reported in the media.

Pakistan is an Ally of the west but we regularly intrude on their air space. The Taliban were looking to make peace with Pakistan which might have spread to the west eventually until America killed their leader with a drone a few months ago.

No I don't think they are they just don't want America for an enemy.Lets not forget where bin laden was killed in the middle of a town and people who helped the U S get him were thrown in prison by pakistan. If that's an ally you don't need enemies.

With respect, I think you need to become more familiar with the real facts. You seem to be mixing history from different times and places and ascribing them all to one place at one time.

One indisputable point is the facts of 1948. Encouraged by the neighbroing countries, thousands left their homes believing they would be back soon with 100% of the land instead of the 46% that they were given. "On May 15, 1948, the British evacuated Palestine, and Zionist leaders proclaimed the state of Israel. Neighboring Arab states (Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Iraq) then invaded Israel claiming that they sought to “save” Palestine from the Zionists. In fact, the Arab rulers had territorial designs on Palestine and were no more anxious to see a Palestinian Arab state emerge than the Zionists."

As for children - 4 points:

    1) Golda Meir, Israeli prime minister in the 1970s said "we will only have peace when they love their children more than they hate ours."

    2) Palestinian parents rejoice when their children die in combat, Israel mourns their deaths,

    3) Palestinian children are frequently used as shields in battle,

    4) Please search what Palestinian children are taught in schools about Israel and Israelis.

Again, we can delve into micro issues but please try to go big picture of the facts. Unless you prefer not to, which is your right.

The reality is that persecuted groups have historically felt the need to get together to further their aspirations. It all stoarts with having positive self-esteem. In the western world, the "white group" really has not needed to do so. Only groups based on religion, nationalty and origin have needed to do so, in my opinion.
