Killers of Royal fusilier Lee Rigby found guilty

This is a little bit off topic for a football forum, so if anyone takes offence, I will remove it.

Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, the two men accused of killing fusilier Lee Rigby, have been found guilty of his murder.

The jury took little more than an hour to deliver their verdict.

Lee Rigby's family said they were satisfied that justice had been done and said: "This has been the toughest time of our lives. No one should have to go through what we have been through as a family."

Relatives of Fusilier Rigby broke down in tears as the verdicts were given.

The British Muslim converts were convicted at the Old Bailey after running Fusilier Rigby down in a car and then hacking him to death with a meat cleaver and knives in front of horrified onlookers.

They lay in wait near Woolwich Barracks in south east London on May 22 and picked the 25-year-old to kill after assuming he was a soldier because he was wearing a Help for Heroes hooded top and carrying a camouflage rucksack.

Within just three minutes of hitting him at 30-40mph in their Vauxhall Tigra, they had butchered the young father and were dragging his body into the middle of the road.

Is a whole of life sentence enough?

If they had received the death penalty, could they have been seen as martyrs?

I hope the friends and family of Lee Rigby can in some way move on, and start the healing process, not that I think they'll ever get over it.

Strange how you can deliberately run someone over, virtually cut his head off, wander around talking to the press with a blood stained knife in your hand then plead not guilty.
And as for not giving them a whole life term why should the EU stick it's beak in, jail the sods for 60 years that should suffice.

 

Let them do their time in an army prison. Job done.

 

What bugs me is the quietness from the British council of Muslims or whatever they are called, not one statement distancing themselves from these murderers, yet when they are targeted in minor racist attacks they are all over the press releasing one statement after another.

I think at lest part of that is the British press stiring, well, I hope it is.

 

There is something to be said for the death penalty in exceptional circumstances. Waste of taxpayers money putting these scumbags in a prison

To be fair I really couldn't care what happens to them.

They've been found guilty of a crime they committed, there was no wiggle they were guilty from the off.

They'll prob be stuck in Wakefield Prison where someone will make an attempt on their lives. It happened to Ian Huntley.

 

Sorry, but I am opposed to the death penalty in this instance. I think a life sentence is far more appropriate - a life of torture! This new sentence should be brought in for cases such as this.

The other option is to outsource their jailing to our chums in India - preferably in the black hole of Calcutta.

I'm afraid a life sentence is no deterrant.

 

I wouldn't get too excited Ringo. There ain't much chance of either of them completing whatever sentence they get.

 

Put them to work for the next 100 yrs. and give all their earnings to the family they have ruined, a life sentance is too good for these bastards,as is shooting.

Those on death row still waste tax payers money in prison. There's appeal after appeal, they have to be absolutely 10000% sure, etc etc. Anybody getting executed on death row in the USA has been there typically 20+ years.

Deport them (after their prison sentences are fully served) back to their country of origins along with ALL members of their families in this country going right back to great grand-parents, great uncles and aunts and all third cousins. That just might make the Muslim community in this country start focusing on putting their own house in order . Just a thought
