    Kids Cup Conquest.

    Details remain sketchy but a Magpies U16 side ran out winners in a tournament staged at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall over the weekend.

    Staged as part of the Total Football Show, United's youngsters faced ties against Peterborough United (drew 2-2), Walsall (won 3-1) and Stoke City (won 3-2), before beating Reading 1-0 in the semi-finals.

    That took them through to Sunday's final against local favourites, Wolves and Newcastle triumphed 2-1 thanks to goals from Greg Olley and Jordan Storey.

    Former Molineux hero Steve Bull then presented the jubilant Toon team with their trophy - no doubt through gritted teeth...

    PS: Newcastle scorers tbc from earlier games, but Jake Hall bagged three.

    Good stuff, does them some good.

    Its a shame to think that only one or two will make the first team.
