Newcastle were beaten finalists in Hong Kong Soccer 7s tournament when they lost 0-2 to Leicester City in Sunday's conclusion to the tournament. Goals from City's Michael Cain and Harry Panayioutou in the first half doing the damage.

It was a big disappointment for Peter Beardsley's side, having already beaten the Foxes 2-0 in the group stages.

United had progressed to the final thanks to wins over Citizen and Rangers in the quarter and semi-finals, while , while Leicester had seen off the mackems in their semi.

Good experience for them anway.

Would have thought Michael Caine was a bit too old to play in the competition.
